Have stayed at Rival Hotel three times in one year now. Standards remain high, exceptionally clean, modern design decor, superb breakfast and staff who are really friendly and helpful.
Location is 5 mins walk off the main drag in Sodermalm and under. 2 minutes from a metro station taking you to old city in two stops, central station and the city centre in three.
The Rival cafe is a cool place to hang out and get refreshed and at tonight the cool crowd arrive to use the bars and bistro. Just love the feel of the place and would return at any time.
We were impressed by the warm welcome from the reception team. They are worthy of comment as they were all friendly and helpful, spoke excellent English and were efficient and professional at all times. It was refreshing to be met by a smile on every occasion.
The restaurant was well worth a visit. We dined there on two nights, the food was fresh and delicious and served by very friendly staff. The waitress who served us on the 26th January was attentive without being intrusive - a skill greatly appreciated!
Our room was comfortable and clean and the buffet breakfast was superb - once again, the staff looked after us with a smile.
I would highly recommend this hotel.
this hotel has a bar that is a meeting point for also locals, it is just above the metro stop, decoration is very good, affordable price, altough wifi connection was very poor at rooms and breakfast coffee is really bad, I would stay here again!
Great hotel in excellent location. Only had a small problem with soap dispenser in shower not having soap which was corrected quickly upon request. Location is outstanding - next to T-station and near many restaurants and a large shopping center.

This place is great. We stayed in room 307 which has a big window with a view to the old town. We were literally in front of the City Hall which felt pretty luxurious. The rooms are small but that's part of the charm and the facilities are really good. Large bathrooms which looked very new and were always perfectly clean. We never crossed paths with anyone when using the shower or toilet so it felt like we were the only using them but it was the end of Feb so probably not many people visiting. The walk to the boat is not the nicest as you need to go under the bridges and the roads are messy (works being done) but it's quite short and safe so we really didn't feel it was a problem and totally worth it. I definitely recommend this place. It's not fancy but really cute and original, the location is good, the view is amazing and it's great value.
Friendly and helpful staff, all of whom were English-speaking. The room was excellent, apart from a faint smell in the bathroom. The en-suite sauna was a plus. The hotel facilities were adequate for our needs, and the location was ideal for us.
