For anyone wanting to stay on the Bund side of Shanghai this hotel has much to offer. The room was not large but well laid out and the view from the bathtub was superb, right up Bund and across to Pearl Tower and Pudong; like Disneyland at night. The room had everything required to make for an excellent stay. The staff were very attentive and polite at all times. The breakfast was fine and if you wanted to read or have a tea during the latter morning or afternoon there is lounge available, with views. The hotel is on the southern edge of the Bund, so you may need to get a taxi to go places in the evening. The Metro station is not close, however a walk along the Bund while enjoying the view will certainly pass the time well!

urge the hotel to introduce a less expensive breakfast option. The set price sent us to Starbucks when it would have been pleasant to opt for a Continental breakfast at the hotel. Considering the glorious grounds, benches on which to sit are lacking.

The JAI was a modern delight. I loved the aestetics of the room, and while it is a small hotel, the space is used very well. I was traveling with a colleague and we made great use of the first floor lounge and the snacks and beverages that were available (for free) around the clock. It is a relaxing, enjoyable and well-appointed hotel. Just don't lose your room key - they charged me $10 for that! Otherwise the staff was gracious and helpful, although not tremendously knowledgable about places we wanted to go.

Apartment had two bedrooms, one double and one single, the double bed was very comfortable. The living room was very large and had a dining table. We didn't use the kitchen to cook but did make good use of the washing machine. We had a balcony which gave us amazing views of the surrounding area.
We had breakfast twice in the cafe, at a cost of 40 yuan each, and this included refills of coffee. We didn't use the gym but it looked amazing.
We liked it so much we booked another night prior to leaving China and would be happy to stay there again

We enjoyed staying here very much. The location is good with numerous restaurants nearby. The "old" part of the hotel (there is a modern block across the road) is a delightful building, the rooms are traditionally furnished and very confortable, and the staff were immensely helpful. The swimming pool in the new block is a great facility too. There is not much in the way of a bar but otherwise we were very happy with everything.
