The property was ok, noisy neighbors at Al times, the floor was damp like the carpet was just washed, the whole room smelled very strongly like disinfectant. In my opinion way overpriced for what it is.

We had a great stay at the Sandpiper Lodge. We had a large suite room that was a great for our family. I also loved the large shower! The pool and hot tub are small but my son still enjoyed them. Location is great and convenient to lots of things to do.

The workers kept talking really loud early in the morning. There was no peaceful time in the mornings. It appears the workers love to chat early in the employee room. The outlets need to be upgraded. Now a days usually outlets have the usb port to charge cellphones.

We liked that it was pretty quiet and the beds were comfortable. The parking spots were a little tight. We needed to move the microwave to see the TV.

Older but with a good Santa Barabra central location. You are staying here for the value and location not because of the amenities or the room.

The property was adequate for our stay; the staff understood our need (wheelchair customer) and gave us a ground floor accomodation; however, it turned out to be noisy and we could not sleep after 5 am; we talked to the front desk who changed the accomodation for the next 2 nights; they made the change when we were out in the town, tranfered our luggage, etc. Appreciate their service. Not many choices in the breakfast items; but the place was clean and well stocked.

In town for a tour of UCSB. Close to downtown SB and UCSB. Our room was really nice and the beds were so comfortable. Breakfast was simple but very good. Staff was very welcoming and quick to bring us extra towels. Would definitely stay here again!

I loved the location and general facilities. Staff was very professional and helpful. The vending machines for drinks did not work, which was disappointing, but otherwise, I thought it was a good value.

The entire property was well cared for. The staff was helpful and friendly. The hot water was immediate. The noise from other rooms was ever present until everyone was asleep. The sound just carried in the old building. The WI-FI was useless and to make matters worse my cell signal was weak.

The hotel was good and pretty clean. Unfortunately, The beds are quite high which made it very difficult for my mom to get into. All the staff was courteous except for the manager, Victor. Sadly, he was very rude and uncaring.

I highly recommend this hotel! The only thing I disliked was that our room was next to the laundry room and the laundry basket/carts were limiting the space for entry to the room.

It's located in a convenient location where you can easily access to anywhere like restaurants, local stores, hairdressing, etc. the room with two beds has good spacing for 2/3 people. The only thing I would like to see is that with the price this hotel is charged, they should offer better breakfast menu.

Although our room was behind the elevator, it was still nice on a Wednesday. Proximity to shops, restaurants and conveniences. It was a good value. Will stay there again in the future

This an almost quaint late '60s or early 70s motor lodge that has been well kept up and modernized to a certain level (example: tub has been converted into a walk-in shower), "marble" countertops. The beds are okay, but mattresses need to be replaced soon. A relatively inexpensive deal with a mattress company like Allswell would give years of excellent support for customers. Just a minimal breakfast (pastry, muffins, cereal, fruit) is provided.

Sandpiper Lodge was the second worst hotel I have stayed at. Staff was helpful but otherwise it was really a bad place to stay. The breakfast was not as advertised and was literally just options of packed sugar. Area was also very dirty with wrappers and beer bottles in the front bushes on our way to our room. It was also noises and I was up late and early due to everything from parents screaming at their kids, people partying, people throwing up, large crews of workers taking off in the morning… didn’t get a good nights sleep except the two days we went to Universal City. I would not recommend this place if you are traveling as a family or a woman alone.

Room was larger than expected, nice surprise. Room was clean. Breakfast was nice, woman in the breakfast room very courteous and professional. Gentleman at check-in was not. It was a very disappointing first impression. Gentleman at check-out was friendly and professional.

A woman had to be narcaned right as my daughters and I were checking in. The room next to us was having a party all night and multiple guests knocked on our door to get into their room in the middle of the night.

I was in a room that faced the elevator and stairs so I couldn’t open the 1 window that would let in natural light. That made me feel like I was in a dungeon. Other than that, it was good.

The pool was open you get breakfast in the morning their customer service was great. They come and bring you towels when you need them and give you more trash bags and this trash cans nearby
