Staff extremely polite and helpful from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. We often stay overnight in Oxford when going to the theatre there and will certainly stay again on out next visit.
The staff, the room, the facilities, the breakfast were all excellent and the Christmas decorations were enchanting.
Fabulous central Oxford location. I had a huge room and loved looking out over the sunny, busy street - which was completely quiet at night. Lovely staff, efficient checking in, clean and comfy, internet worked well, staff printed documents for me... everything was perfect. Spacious bathroom - water pressure was a bit low so the bath took a while to fill but that was not a problem. I would definitely come here again.

The hotel is a traditional 17th century terrace so expect lots of character. I had a great stay here and found the staff to be very friendly. Breakfast was served at the adjoining cafe and was excellent.

I had a lovely stay at Mercure in 2014. The room was clean and comfortable. Although it's not terribly modern, it has everything you need and is more reasonably priced than comparable hotels in the area. Located on Merton Street just off the High Street, which is really convenient.
We chose this very nice small hotel for it's convenience to the train. We got much more. The room was smallish but very comfortable. It came with a large bath, thoughtful extras, such as a bowl of fruit and biscuits, and a friendly staff. There are no stairs but staff are happy to help with luggage. The town, and gown, are easily accessible...a short walk up the hill.
