Overall a fantastic weekend break in a wonderful hotel. Great staff, room and location. Worth every penny. Unfortunately dinner at the famous crazy bear restaurant out of town was a let down. Would rather have eaten in the hotel.
"Cozy little inn right in the center of Woodstock"
A short walk to Blenheim Palace, this cozy inn had ensuite bathroom with shower, two comfy chairs, comfortable bed with extra pillows, comforter. We slept well, and had a great full breakfast in their dining room.
My wife and I stayed 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The breakfast was excellent, it set us up for the day. The room was very comfortable with only slight noise from the road. We would thoroughly recommend The Punch Bowl, it was everything we wanted at a reasonable price. We left the car at The Punch Bowl and caught the S3 bus (£5.70 return) to Oxford so we didn't have to worry about parking.
Woodstock is such a beautiful English town and this very old house in its high street is so full of charm and character. Our room had a real 'wow' to it with its light, size and loft room roof rafters and its lovely old world feel. Really nice large comfortable bed and very large modern bathroom. Clearly the hotel's age limits its facilities but that wasn't an issue to us. Nice generous breakfast in the morning served by the pleasant and helpful owners.
Would very happily stay there again.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was lovely and clean, the bed was one of the most comfortable i have ever slept in,in a hotel. They have two kitchens one serves english food the other Indian , my husband had the Sally chicken from the Indian menu which he said was one of the best meals he has tasted. I don't know why there are bad reviews about this place as we found it very clean, the staff were extremely friendly. We would defiantly stay here again and recommend it to others.
