"Nous avons passé trois jours dans le gite d'Arfons nous étions 10 adultes et c'était vraiment parfait Gite très confortable, le charme de l'ancien, mais avec tout le confort, très bien équipé Nous avons été très bien reçus à l'arrivée comme au départ, de belles balades a quelques minutes de voiture Bref un séjour parfait à recommander surtout si vous êtes une bande d'amis ou une grande famille"

"What a beautiful property and so nicely located right on a lock of the Canal du Midi. The property is clean, very comfortable and the hosts are extremely welcoming, but entirely discreet. Cannot recommend staying here highly enough."

"Firstly Anni is an excellent host. Great communications throughout with plenty of ideas and local information.... and more when you meet her! We had a couple of minor issues whilst staying there, but once again she was fantastic and sorted them out quickly! The Gite is what I would describe as typical for the area. Quite dark inside, but lots of character. Clean on arrival and had all we needed. Pool was well used by us, better on hot days.... bit nippy on moderate days! All in all a good...

"Erick and Isabelle's house was simply delightful. Spacious, comfortable, quiet, beautifully furnished and exceptionally well- equipped for our 2 week stay. They were lovely hosts, always happy to offer advice/recommendations on where to eat/visit. Welcome basket of delicious local produce was gratefully received too! Star of the show has to be Goose the dog who gleefully joined in the river swimming! Thoroghly enjoyed our stay!"

"House was beautifully well equipped, immaculately clean and tidy. It’s in an excellent location only 15 minutes from Carcassonne but with absolute peace and quiet. Local pool in the Village was great in the heat. The local butcher carries bread, pastries, preserves and lovely wine, not forgetting meat. Laurence was wonderful with ideas of where to visit, and was available for anything we needed but otherwise very discreet."

"Lovelly, old house in a large estate, with the owners property next door. About 10m from the local village. Superb 15m pool and surrounding area, great host, superb for wildlife, super relaxing."

"Lovely relaxing stay, wish it could have been for longer. Adrian and Ann-Marie are super hosts. The gite was clean and comfortable and well furnished with everything we needed. The outside deck was perfect for meals and relaxing in the afternoons/evenings after visiting local villages. And the pool was warm and a great size - we often had it all to ourselves. Would highly recommend."

"A wonderful gite in the most stunning countryside - beautiful views, wonderful wine and history all around with the Cathar castles and Carcassonne all close by. We had a wonderful week and wish we could have stayed in our tranquil little hideaway for ever. The gite was very clean and comfortable and well-equipped, we didn't want for anything. Annie-Claude was a wonderful hostess and was extremely helpful to us. When Willilam is older it would be great to bring him back to run around the hills..."

"L emplacement du gite est idéal pour visiter le secteur , Mirepoix ,Foix ,Carcassonne. L environnement est très agréable. Le gite est ideal pour un petit chien comme le notre car nous avons disposé d un jardin clôturé. Le gite est très mignon mais un bémol, l absence de volets .La piscine est un véritable plus, elle est très belle et très appréciée avec les fortes chaleurs . A recommander."

"We had a really good time. The gite was very well equipped with everything we needed. Bob and Jo are excellent hosts, kept themselves to themselves but on hand if needed for any advice or recommendations for the area. We would definitely recommend!!!"

"We had a wonderful week. We were made so welcome by the friendly owner and her family. The property is well equipped, comfortable and provided us with the peaceful environment we were in need of. The pool was very welcome, considering the glorious weather we enjoyed, although we were so busy discovering the surrounding area we didn’t make as much use of it as we would have liked."

"We've stayed in many self catering cottages and had a very different experience in this one. On VRBO the gite is advertised as having a lake view, its no where near a lake! After we'd paid for the gite the owner contacted us for €300 cash deposit, and told us about additional electricity charges per day. There was no mention of this on VRBO, so the owner waived the charge. We arrived at 4pm on a Sunday and immediately had to find a supermarket as no basics/welcome pack was provided e.g bread,...

"If you are looking for peace and beauty, then the situation of this home is perfect. Every day you will be greeted by two fab ponies and inquisitive chickens. Yes, a car is needed for exploring, but there was something so relaxing about coming home to the tranquility of the countryside. Plenty of walks nearby and only a couple of hours from the Pyranees, I would recommend this home if you are looking for an escape."

"The only negatives I have for this property are that the hot water went away very quickly, there was no stopper for the bathtub, and the automatic lights were hard to turn on in the morning out in the hallway. It’s walkable distance to cite de carcassonne, but it is on the far end of town, pretty far away from the train station. It took me about 45 minutes in the rain. "

"An absolute gem. The Villa is very well appointed with custom finishes and furniture made by the hosts (their profession). It’s private, safe and a stone’s throw from the market for easy food shopping and all the necessities provided for home cooking. We stayed a week and did day trips in all directions. Coming home to the refreshing pool was a cherry on top. Anne and her family, including their very friendly dog, were welcoming and delightful. This is a special place and gets 5 stars on all...
