"The hotel and our room (No 5) were nicely styled in a modern silver-grey scheme. Our room was clean and comfortable, especially the bed. Bathroom was clean and modern too. "We had an issue on the first night with a noisy kitchen fan unit under our window. Not much sleep had! I went to see Reception first thing and the receptionist and Manager were terrific. They said that we could move , we just packed our things, went out and they moved our luggage to a new room. "

"I love these type of B&B’s. This B&B is steeped in history built in the 18th century, On the land owned by the Spencer family, Vincent Van Gogh also lived on the square, so this is not a modern hotel if that’s what you’re looking for, it has steep stairs and smallish rooms, but is full of character, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the hospitality was fantastic and the breakfast was delicious, the pub on the corner is very friendly and only a short walk to the beach."

"The hotel and grounds are beautiful, I think our room had recently been refurbished. Our room was near the top of the house, and just a word of warning, if you are less mobile there is no lift. However it wasn't an issue for us. Whilst the restaurant menu promises a lot the actual quality wasn't great. The staff were very friendly and attentive and I could imagine having a great chat with them if we had more time "
