There were a lot of good things about Mitsui Garden but also a couple of significant reasons for which we wouldn’t return. First the good - staff are friendly, polite and professional. The breakfast is very nice with a good variety of both Japanese and Western foods. They offer change up some of the foods on a day to day basis which is nice for a longer stay. The dining room, on the 25th floor with nearly 360 degree views, is really lovely. The rooms are small, typical for Japan. We needed three beds and at this hotel, the beds are “full” size rather than singles. We would have preferred singles which would have afforded a little more space. Overall though, the room layout was manageable. The hotel is well located within walking distance of the Hiroshima Dome, Museum, Memorials as well as many restaurants and a main shopping area. The opportunities for improvement at this hotel are: 1. The window in the room doesn’t open, the “a/c” has a lower limit of 20C and it was always much warmer than 20 degrees. Very hot and stuffy. 2. The hotel, rooms and dining room are all renovated but the bathroom in the hotel room is old. Besides being old, it is covered in mold. Black mold between all the tiles. The bathroom doesn’t have a fan (also not unusual in Japan) but the bathtub never clears of standing water so the mold isn’t a surprise. It’s nothing that some vinegar and elbow grease couldn’t fix.

What a beautiful hotel. Comfortable, but firm, beds and pillows. Amenities for guests. Very close to Hiroshima historic sites.small cafe inside lobby. Friendly staff. Happy Hour on top floor for guests with a beautiful view

A lovely hotel with comfortable beds, clean and a nice bathroom. Rooms were spacious, staff were helpful and breakfast was tasty. It’s on the top floor and the views were amazing. I would stay in this hotel again.

Room was small and needed up dating. Marked walls, grime around sink, pillows and matress needed to be upgraded too. The communial areas good, but bedrooms do not match the 4 star rating.

Well located, helpful staff with local knowledge
Have been to Hiroshima previously. This venue an easy walk to Peace Park and the local Dori and beyond, with many excellent eateries and shopping within steps of the hotel. An amazing view, both towards the harbor, and in the opposite direction, from breakfast/guests room on the top floor. The hotel a little dated, though comfortable.

My biggest complaint was the lack of any climate control in the small room. It was unusually warm for November in Hiroshima, and my room felt about 10 degrees warmer than outside. Apparently the hotel had already switched over to central heating and there is no individual climate control in the rooms (even though there appears to be a thermostat). The windows did not open. The hotel staff suggested fans, but when they went to check, they had none left (presumably many guests were experiencing the same issue). So I received a frozen cooling pad to put under my pillow. Not exactly ideal. On the plus side, the view from the 25th floor lounge is great, and the staff tried to help as much as possible.

Lovely hotel, the staff were helpful and the amenities were great. The breakfast was excellent. It is close to the shopping district and the Peace park. It is one bus ride from the station. Would stay here again so would recommend.

Overall the hotel was convenient and the breakfast was great. The beds were a bit too hard and the shower was not easy to use. The laundry facilities were also not enough to support all the guests staying. However the staff were all phenomenal! Especially the breakfast staff were efficient, friendly, and spoke great English.

25th lounge service whole day is a big plus! Also breakfast buffet is super yummy, especially recommend their dessert! We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed many different food menus and great day and night view of Hiroshima city!

We have stayed in the Tokyo Mitsui Garden Hotel several times, and the rooms in the Hiroshima hotel were not as nice and a little shabby feeling, and there was no public bath, which was disappointing - I should have carefully read the description of the hotel amenities in detail. The hotel did provide all the basics - the bed was comfortable though very small for a double! The view from the room was amazing that looked out on the City and the Seto Sea, so that made up for any shortcomings. Also, the breakfast buffet was really good, with a great variety of breakfast items - traditional and Western —delicious food. If I didn’t compare this hotel with it’s sister hotel in Tokyo, I would have rated it higher.

The hotel was clean and conveniently located. It was an easy walk to the Peace Memorial and museum. There were plenty of restaurants close by. One small thing bothered me. They provided tea, but not coffee.

The bus stop was conveniently located near the hotel. Walkable to the Peace Park and other points of interest. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Good location. Walking distance to memorial park & museum & cruises to miyajima. Small rooms, small bathrooms. Poor quality towels, asked for more, and when they cleaned the room they took them again.

This property was in a great location. Restaurants close by and walkable to Peace Memorial Park and museum. Room was comfortable and staff were great. Really enjoyed our stay.
