“Bombora review”

The courtyard and parking lot first seen on arrival are a little off putting. But the room was very pleasant and the view from the balcony was lovely - a park with trees and lots of birds.

“pleasant stay”

When we arrived within there working hours, nobody was in the reception office, there was no courtesy phone to contact the owner, we had to use a strangers mobile phone as we had a flat battery from the flight to Coolangatta. A bit frustrating to say the lease.

“Nice and simple”

The hotel was simple and had all the basics needed for a place to crash. It was close to the beach and the heart of Coolangatta but just far enough away to avoid any bustle noise. Though the beds weren't the commies and the shower leaked the staff were lovely and very helpful.

“Bombora Resort”

Conveniently situated to local restaurants and sea front within walking distance, quiet location, room was a bit tired and basic but comfortable.

“Beware of the one bedroom apartments”

Forget one bedroom apartments, mine had three single beds. There are no windows or air con. The front door must be kept open at all times for air flow, especially for the bathroom which is an internal room at the rear of the apartment. Well away from beaches but a short walk across a park to shops and facilities. The motel laundry backs onto the bathroom wall and washers and dryers can create shuddering during the day. Inexpensive but pay the extra for a motel room upstairs.

“Not impressed”

My partner and I were arriving late and leaving early the next day for the airport. The staff were good ensuring our room was left open for us and we just had to close the door the next morning so in that respect it was good. Staying there one night was definetely enough. The room was small and dingey (brick walls), there was no hot water for a shower and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. It didnt seem to be very clean either, there were cobwebs and spiders in the roof corners and I hate spiders so wasnt too impressed. It was also more than 2km away from the airport.

“Never Again”

Hotel does not offer late check in and 'duty' manager was almost impossible to contact. Was not until we were standing in another hotel's foyer that we got a call back. Room was noisy and uncomfortable, got an hour's sleep if that. Woke up early to find no hot water in the shower. Worst hotel experience of my life.
