Awesome! They were very accommodating, courteous, and upgraded us to Starwood status because we are getting married here.

This was my second stay at the Atheneum. It was on the Fourth of July and the staff was fantastic even though they were working a holiday. The only reasons I didn't give it straight 5's is that our room was almost out of toilet paper and the curtains didn't fully shut, so the bright lights of Detroit were streaming in. We were in town for a Tigers' game this time, last time it was a Lions' game. The hotel is a short distance from the stadiums - it's an easy, safe walk with the crowd, and the valet parking makes life easy. A very comfortable stay with excellent staff!

Pros: Free Shuttle That Will Take You Almost Anywhere and Pick You Up Free Breakfast Free Wi-Fi Excellent Service Clean Rooms Cons: Hot Water Takes Time Elevators are a Bit Slow, Aged I was in Detroit for a political conference and this hotel is located only two blocks down (about a five minute walk) from the Cobo. I had a king room to myself on the 9th floor. It was very spacious, clean, and had relatively new furniture. I don't know how some of these reviewers think this is outdated. It's a Holiday Inn, not the Riviera. Anyway, you can't argue with free breakfast, free Wi-Fi, and a free shuttle that will take you to and from almost anywhere. And Q. Q is one of the shuttle drivers. Nicest and most courteous gentlemen you'll ever meet. I do have one complaint. I apparently never did figure out the trick with the shower because it took FOREVER for the water to get warm, let alone hot. And the toilet is a little strange.

Nice Hotel, Great location. Easy to check in and out. Valet parking was nice with in & out privileges (though is cost extra) Keurig in the room. Sleep Number beds.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Crowne Plaza. The decor was beautiful and modern. The staff was super friendly. The room service was prompt and the food was delicious. It felt like a five star hotel but without the price tag of one. I would definitely stay here again.

I enjoyed my stay here very much! The neighborhood was active and perfectly safe, with plenty of things to do and places to eat. It's a terrific location as Comerica Park and Ford Field are a short walk and Joe Louis Arena is a short ride away by People Mover. I recommend this hotel even if you don't gamble.

Stayed here in July for a 3 day business trip. Overall, very happy with the stay and recommend this hotel highly to anyone.
