"Nice hotel very convenient for Princes street and"
Stayed here for the Ryder Cup, hotel was great, walking distance to all restaurants and bars. Breakfast was very good, a bit of everything. Staff were all very friendly and attentive. Would definitely stay her again
If you are looking for a modern contemporary hotel within walking distance of the castle and shopping, this is the best! Ann Enneguess and Sandy Ruff at reception and Marta Giannella in the fabulous Cucina Restaurant can handle every problem for you. . .including finding lost passports under the bed! Absolutely the BEST hotel in Scotland!!! Carole
The hotel is across the bridge from the Edinburgh's old town which give you great view of the city. It is right next to the main train station and GBP 20 taxi ride from the Edinburgh's airport. From the hotel you can pretty much walk to the main attractions.
The hotel was beautiful with nice pool/fitness center. It has really nice bar to tastes whisky and restaurant (Number One) was excellent.
Room (we stayed in cheapest room) was large, clean and comfortable. Bathroom was also large with extra mirror for my wife to do makeup, etc.
We travel extensively and, more often than not, I find that hotels fall short of expectations regarding female travelers. The Scotsman is one of the best I have ever had the pleasure of staying in.
The staff and service was exceptional and the attention to detail in the room can only be described as exquisite. The quality of the bed and bedding, draperies, adequate lighting for dressing, plenty of room for clothing, and enough room in the bath for my toiletries and my husbands...I could go on and on.
We stayed in many hotels while traveling in Scotland, all of them top of the line, but the Scotsman was our favorite!! Tremendous location and value!
Deluxe twin room with a wonderful view of the castle. Great customer service throughout. Reception staff and concierge first class.Early check in and late check out accommodated. Lovely breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.
We spent two nights and had a wonderful time. Very efficient, speedy and friendly welcome at reception. We were then taken to our room (thankfully as I would probably still be trying to find it - it is a bit of a rabbit warren but some lovely artwork to look at on the way!) Lovely room, spotless, great storage and some quirky touches. Large balcony with a terrific view to Calton Hill. Had room service a couple of times - lovely food and very speedy. Quiet room. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to sit and have a drink but loved the bar area. Overall the staff could not be friendlier.
