A great Edinburgh hotel to escape London from. I wrote an email to them beforehand asking if we (my girlfriend and I) could have a castle facing room, and they delivered. The facilities were great, and although I was a little skeptical about the conditions and overall class of the room when booking - knowing little about the Sheraton brand - it was really nice and generally worth the money we put in. Friendly staff in both the hotel and the spa. We had hotel club access, but sadly the breakfast there was just a continental breakfast, and we had to pay extra to have breakfast in the main dining area - which was a shame given the high cost to upgrade to club room access. Refreshments in the club room ended at 1900/1930, which personally I thought was disappointingly early. I also forgot to bring swim trunks for the spa, a rookie error which cost me £25 at the pool. Room service was terrific (bit pricey), but the HD/non-HD format for movie rental was a bit unfair.
"Great accommodations in the heart of Old Edinburgh"
I can't say enough good things about this hotel. Wish we could have had more time in Edinburgh to enjoy this hotel. Close to everything that matters, very friendly and informed staff, nice touches in the apartments. You can't go wrong staying here. And they surprised us with a free upgrade to a family style room, which my college-age daughter greatly appreciated!
We spent two nights and had a wonderful time. Very efficient, speedy and friendly welcome at reception. We were then taken to our room (thankfully as I would probably still be trying to find it - it is a bit of a rabbit warren but some lovely artwork to look at on the way!) Lovely room, spotless, great storage and some quirky touches. Large balcony with a terrific view to Calton Hill. Had room service a couple of times - lovely food and very speedy. Quiet room. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to sit and have a drink but loved the bar area. Overall the staff could not be friendlier.
This is the ideal location for a romantic, very personalised experience. The room (junior suite) was amazing, and thanks to expedia, it was not over priced. The staff were really friendly and professional too and helped make this trip one to remember
