Just what we were looking for, nothin' fancy, just comfortable rooms and nice people near the stuff we wanted to do. They were right on the canal, and you could book snorkling trips, rent jet skis, etc, right from the stands just outside the hotel. We were expecting a regular hotel room, but it was an apartment suite with a balcony looking over the canal.
The whole experience was like dream. A room with a view indeed. Newly renovated. Studio. It is NOT the Sheraton. It's a room on the beach. It's in the Florida Keys an hour north of Key West. You can pay more but you won't get more.

Parmer's Resort was located 45 mins from Key West and just what we were looking for. We were greeted warmly and shown to our room immediately. Our twin-bedded room was exceptionally clean, two pillows each and the bathroom was also, plenty of towels. The A/C was on and it was very comfortable. Ceiling fan also if we needed it. TV, but we never used it. Chairs located outside our room on the deck. The grounds of the resort were very tidy-signs of freshening up and final prep for the Florida season were evident. Colorful Arondack chairs were strategically located near the water's edge and also several hammocks which we all enjoyed. We did not use the pool but it did look inviting and were told it was kept at 85 degrees. Pool towels were available at the front desk as was a hairdryer if needed. We enjoyed the continental breakfast: choice of sliced pineapple, oranges, grapefruit, melon plus fresh orange juice. Several choices of cereal, donuts, muffins and bread to toast, packaged preserves and the coffee was excellent. What impressed me was that serving bowls were topped up immediately-so late comers still had a good selection. We were appreciative of the mandatory quiet time-10PM onwards. We went to Key West and were back at Boondocks for dinner (5 mins from resort) and some pleasant country western music. All in all, a great choice and a good experience.
I was very surprised in the living space of the suite with kitchen. The walls seemed a bit thin since I could hear others cell phones in the early morning. However, overall stay was just fine. they are also pet friendly which is a plus for me.
This hotel was amazing! The room was great, the staff made it seem like a small town feel and they were very accommodating. Especially after was checked out and had an evening dive planned they allowed us to use the showers. I will definitely be staying there every time I dive in Key Largo. It was a much better experience than Marina Del Mar.
We have stayed in this hotel before and loved it so slightly nervous about recent changes. Wonderful surprise. The rooms have been very tastefully refurbished and feel so comfortable and elegent. Thrilled they have retained the Hemmingway style in keeping with historic key west. Very peaceful location. Staff could not have been more welcome or accommodating. They have a wonderful cat there called Macy. Very well behaved. She gives the place a sense of home. Wouldn't stay anywhere else. Could not have felt more looked after but not intruded upon. We feel great after our stay. We especially like the location. Minutes from the busier end of Duval but peaceful and secluded. I'm particularly fussy about cleanliness. No worries here! Can't wait to get back.
