Listopedia: Chasing the Sun around the World
Whether you want to feel the warm glow of sunset while you sip sundowners or spend as many hours sprawled out on the sand as possible, here’s our month by month Listopedia of destinations where the sun will shine.
January: Sydney, Australia
From Christmas Eve until Australia Day, Sydney seems to slow down. The streets are quiet, school is out and the beaches are at their best. Start out with a patch of sand at Bondi Beach before moving your way south on the Bondi to Coogee headland walk, with dips at Tamarama, Bronte and Clovelly along the way.
February: Maunganui Beach, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand
The spot to see and be seen! Mount Maunganui is always buzzing in Summer. The beach sits at the base of the Mauao Volcano, dormant and a popular hiking track for locals.
March: Koh Samui, Thailand
Maximise your chances of sunshine in the month of March – the end of the rainy season and the start of the dryer months in Koh Samui. Grab a cocktail by the pool or spend the day in your private plunge pool away from the crowds.
April: Great Barrier Reef, Queensland
Shake off the post-Summer blues with a few days of glorious sunshine in Tropical North Queensland. Hop on a helicopter and see the Great Barrier Reef sparkling a brilliant aquamarine in the sun.
