How to Holiday in Hong Kong For Kids
I recently visited Hong Kong with my seven year old daughter Lottie and four year old son Sol. We had a great time exploring the vibrant city and trying lots of local food. Here are my Top tips for fun things to do in Hong Kong with kids:
1. Visit the Zoological and Botanical Gardens. One of the oldest in the world, the gardens are located on the Victoria Peak mid-levels. They’re a beautiful place to explore, with stunning flowers, birdlife, fountains and a children’s park.
2. Ride the Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car up to the Tian Tan Big Buddha – the largest outdoor bronze Buddha statue in the world. Once up the top my kids loved walking around the cultural site and learning about different religions.
3. Get your theme park fix at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. There are seven lands in the park – Adventureland, Grizzly Gulch, Mystic Point, Toy Story Land, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. Also check out Main Street USA, which is filled with shops, Disney characters and live music. My kids loved the parade, a definite must-see.
4. Explore Hong Kong by water and catch a ferry to either Cheung Chau or Lamma Island. Cheung Chau is known for its famous bun festival in May. My kids bought some bun key rings for their friends from Cheung Chau.
