Listopedia: the best luxury hotels for kids
Making sure the little ones in your life have a good time on holiday is often key to ensuring you have a good holiday. If you don’t want to sacrifice your creature comforts for the kids, here’s our listopedia of luxury kids hotels.
Soneva Kiri, Koh Kood
High above the shores of Koh Kood, just a short flight from Bangkok, Soneva Kiri is part five star resort/part adventure land. Let the kids run wild inside The Den. This Manta-Ray shaped bamboo hideout has a drawbridge, art, music and games rooms. There’s even sleepover pods and a chocolate store. Big kids (ok adults) will get a hit out of breakfast in a Tree Top Pod. The big basket raises up from the ground into the canopy, with food delivered by staff on the zip line. Book the whole family into the Beach Pool Reserve, where the kids bedroom connects straight to the pool via water slide.
The Plaza Hotel, New York
Immortalised in the children’s books by Kay Thompson and Hilary Knight, Eloise was a little girl who lived at The Plaza. One of New York’s most sumptuous hotels, The Plaza is determined to make every little girl’s dream come true – The Eloise Suite is pink, pink and more pink. Designed by internationally renowned and quirky fashion designer Betsey Johnson, the custom space is usually booked with the adjoining, non-pink suite next door for the grown ups.
Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort, Bali
If you’re in need of a little downtime for the whole family but don’t want to deal with long flight times, the Sofitel in Nusa Dua is a great spot to spend a few days. Located right on the beachfront inside Nusa Dua’s exclusive gated resort community, the Sofitel opened at the end of last year and has plenty to keep the little ones occupied. Each restaurant has a dedicated play area – child friendly chairs, ball pits, toys, puzzles, couches. The buffet stocks everything from donuts to gluten free children’s snacks. There is a dedicated kids club on site but you’ll have trouble keeping the kids out of the enormous pool, which sprawls through the resort.
