Expedia Insiders’ Select 2015
The Expedia 2015 Insiders’ Select awards are out! Find out the top ten hotels and resorts based on more than 2 million guest reviews.
1. Royal Palms Hotel, Bermuda
You’d be forgiven for thinking the sitting rooms and lounge areas of this hotel were straight from an English estate. Instead, we’re actually in Bermuda! Several 19th century manor hotels in Hamilton have been transformed into a hotel where you can escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy a dip by the pool or a book by the fireplace. There’s an eclectic mix of Colonial and Bermudan interior design but it works.
2. Celenga Apartments, Dubrovnik
Staying in the heart of Dubrovnik’s beautiful Old Town is the best way to experience the city’s unique history. Wander down the cobblestoned alleyways until you find these quiet, homely apartments which are located on top of historic water tanks that used to supply the city. A refurbishment and all the mod cons keep you comfortable, but there’s plenty of small details to remind you of the significant location – from stone shelving to the preserved water tanks.
3. Pumilio Mountain & Ocean Hotel, Costa Rica
If you want to experience the wild of Costa Rica’s rainforest without giving up your creature comforts, this boutique hotel is a must visit. Tucked into a pocket of jungle under 10km from the country’s famous Herradura Beaches, rooms look straight out at the trees and are a world away from the busy tourist spots. The hotel even offers free transfers out to the beach so you get the best of both worlds. Just remember to save time to visit the hotel’s spa!
