Lovely view of the lake from the lakeside suites. Worth the extra. Good amenities. 15 minute walk along the lake to town. Parking is charged at $15 à day

The Kamana Lakehouse is exceptional. We felt very well taken care of our whole stay. The front desk staff was extremely accomodating, holding our bags before check in and taking them to our room and booking a taxi for an excursion. The servers and bar staff we're great as well. The food was the best we had on our entire trip to NZ. The included breakfast in the morning is completely worth it! It's easy to get to the wharf via Uber or the bus. You can also walk to the Sunshine Bay Track nearby for an easy hike. There is a restaurant and convenience store across the street as well. There is construction going on nearby, I was worried this would be more disruptive but it wasn't too bad. It was active (and loud) during the day. It did affect the experience in the soaking tub, so if you can, book after 6pm when the construction is done for the day.

Room was decent and clean. The shower didn’t contain all the water so water splashed outside the shower door onto the floor. That was a regular problem at our other hotels though. We reserved a parking spot and were told when we arrived to check in that it would be valet parked. That cost us $40 nzd unfortunately. While our hotel room was completely fine, it was nothing special. I’m not sure it was worth the price.

Really nice hotel in center of town. But rooms have no views. And there is no pool.

This apartment is in a great location for walking into town. It takes about 10 minutes and the walk back is up hill. The apartment itself was very clean and we made use of the washer and dryer.
