Porters Ski Area Romantic Holidays

This is not downtown, but it is a good location that splits the difference between the airport and CBD. I walk, and it’s an easy (but longish) walk to the city center. Bus service is also frequent, and there is direct service to both the CBD and airport. It’s super clean, super quiet, and very comfy. It has a kitchenette. It’s overall a great spot.

Microwave and kitchen exhaust fan didn’t work. Cleanliness average and room condition tired with paint missing from walls.

The room felt very budget, broken ironing board missing cup, and a note saying the rooms are only serviced every 3 days so during our 4 day stay we only had a serviced room once. The phone wasn’t working when we tried to ring the desk for a missing a cup and after learning our room wouldn’t be serviced we needed towels. The first lady that checked us in was bright and cheerful super helpful but for the next few days the other lady wasn’t very warm. It’s almost as there’s been a change in management and have put cheap tea towel, glasses and cutlery in there. Location is probably the best thing about this place short walk to riverside and tram and everything else. Also have to pay to park car $20 per day

Our major problem was a that the property uses a lockbox for the key card. There is a phone number to call for problems but many travel phone plans do not have voice access - only data. So we could only communicate through the expedia messaging app without any clear signals that these messages would even be read or that we could access the property that night. Ultimately - over about an hour - things worked out but it was a very frustrating experience. Having said that the property was lovely and perfectly located and priced well. And we ended up staying an extra two nights.

I couldn't imagine a better place to stay. It had all of the advantages of an apartment rental, with none of the awkwardness of renting from an individual. The Kilmore Collection is owned by The George, the adjacent boutique hotel, and staff at The George are on hand to check in and out and assist with anything else. The townhouse was a gorgeous two story flat, very comfortable and spacious. And the location was perfect.
