The penthouse photos posted set a very different expectation. Not worth the price. There was a 5-10min wait for the one existing/functioning lift, and when it broke down, we were ushered rudely to take the stairs, all the way up to 18th floor. The staff did not bother offering aid to help carry our stuff . And for the premium rate paid for a penthpuse stay, we were still charged for the toothbrush and toothpaste, which is usually covered in cheaper hotels. The deposit came back to my account only after 2 weeks. Not worth booking.

I will not stay at an APX venue again. 5 to 10 days to get your security deposit back. Quick to take your money but take their sweet time to return it when there is obviously nothing wrong with the room. Unfortunately this is the first time I have not given a positive review. I hope this helps people

Perfect for a good night’s stay in a convenient location with a lot of options to eat and drink around. Short walk from tram stop and bus stop. Staff were incredibly friendly! Parking very handy, make sure you book it early though.

A good overall experience. The hotel itself is now getting a little dated and tired - one can imagine it looked its best around 15 years ago. The food at the restaurant was of a very poor standard for city dining. Everything had a 'reheated in the microwave' quality about it - cluggy sauces and frozen prawns. The breakfast experience was quite average $40 pp and barista-coffee is not included - but a Petrol station-type automatic coffee machine is available for those unwilling to cough up $6 for a good morning coffee. The fruit options were a little sad too. As mentioned, it was fine overall - clean, comfortable - but there was nothing premium or impressive about the experience.
