Sometimes you just want to splurge a little on accommodation, so I went with a bit more upscale with Pullman Cairns International and selected a room with balcony and view of the bay. Room was clean and spacious, with a bathroom that had a bathtub and shower. A nice firm bed and plenty of flat surfaces to put your things. And with refrigerator too. Thank you to Larissa at the front desk for assigning me a great room that is quiet and comfortable that I didn't feel like going out (almost). Breakfast is buffet style and was $35AUD if you book it the day before, but it had many options. And well worth it if you want the convenience. Location is close to the pier (for Great Barrier Reef cruises, etc.), and within walking distance (10-20 minutes) to the night market, farmer's market and train station. Not to mention restaurants and stores nearby. Definitely worth a look for luxury and convenience.

We really enjoyed our stay here, plenty of space and a nice breakfast included. Only thing we thought that would be nice was if the pool had been heated...it was a little too cold to enjoy in winter!

Once happy hour finished at six the pool bar closed, seemed odd not to stay open to allow people to have another drink - you’d done a great job luring everyone down then the vibe just stopped. Good for thought.

Quiet location, close to bus route into Cairns and Palm Cove. Nice to wake up to and come home to a typical NQ view. Would definitely stay again.
