Lawerence/Lauren was terrific! So helpful and friendly. I just hope I spelled his name right. We travelled as a family of 5 and had connected rooms with a shared entrance so we could easily commute between rooms but still have privacy.

We stayed at the Stamford about 10 years ago, and at the time we thought it was a great hotel. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like much maintenance has been done in the interim. On the plus side, the room was spacious, however, the carpets and furniture were stained, the doors to the wardrobe didn’t slide open easily, and a drawer front came off in my hand when I used it. We let reception know about the drawer and cupboard, and they fixed the drawer but not the sliding door. The building still looks impressive from the outside but really does need a refurbishment.
