Pine Grove Cottage - Visit Monticello, Charlottesville & Many Local Wineries

The Pine Grove Cottage is surrounded by woods in its rural location, but is just 3 miles from the Zion Crossroads Interstate 64 exit and all the retail and restaurants at that interchange. It is 22 minutes from Monticello, and there are over a dozen wineries within a 30 minute drive.

The cottage was thoroughly renovated and luxuriously furnished in mid-2020. If it looks professionally decorated, that's because it is. Everything is brand-spanking new, and beautiful.

The cottage can accommodate seven people if you include the sleeper sofa in the living room. The mattresses in the bedrooms are all Temperpaedic type mattresses, very comfortable.

You will love the patio with its gas grill and fire pit. Also, there is a 1/2 mile trail beside Oliver Creek - great for walking the dog or the kids.

Not worth the Money
Owner communicated with me on VRBO messaging until I told him about the "pee" stains on the mattress pad and some mouse poop in the bed! Luckily there were clean sheets left in the dryer, with a bunch of towels I folded. Not their fault, but ticks were awful this time of year. We only stayed one night and did not hear a thing from the manager when we told him these things. Worst VRBO I have ever been to. Trailer park just down the lane and a large dumpster right across the road in the front yard too

Quick stay
We stayed just one night on our way to OBX. We were able to walk around UVA to show our kids where my wife went. Wr appreicated the quietness away from everything else.

Worked for our needs!
We needed somewhere to stay while our dog had a major surgery at a veterinary specialist in the area. Do not like staying in hotels and like a more "homey" feel. This was exactly what we needed.

Just what we needed
Cute little house, comfortable with character. It rained so we did not use the back porch fire pit area. Had a problem with the furnace, but the owner replied back and we were brought electric heaters (the furnace needed more repairs than could be done in a short period of time.) The only drawback was the view across the road. The neighborhood does not have curbside garbage pick up, so there was a dumpster across the street. Overall, it was a nice little house and I would stay there again.

Mother’s Day getaway
My husband, mom, and 2 year old daughter enjoyed our stay. Everything was clean and comfortable with plenty of space for my daughter to play inside and out. We had fun tossing the horseshoes outside and loved the close proximity to Walmart and multiple wineries. We will definitely come stay again if we make our way back to the area. Thank you!!

Great little place.
A comfortable place, much better than a hotel, with a responsive host.
