"The room was very clean and in great condition. The bed was super comfy and the pillows were nice and plush.

Seaside Residenz Hotel Chemnitz

10/10 Excellent

"Good location between city center and Uni, on tram line."

PLAZA INN Zwickau

8/10 Good

"Fine hotel, although it was a little noisy with the windows open. Convenient parking, and good rooms!"

Hotel Chemnitzer Hof

8/10 Good

"The Chemnitzer Hof is a period property dating back to 1929. It's an elegant building, well maintained. The breakfast was excellent and the hotel and my room immaculate. The staff were very helpful."

Limehome Chemnitz Kirchgässchen

8/10 Good

"The place is centrally located yet quiet. Nicely furnished, very spacious and clean. No air conditioner so it was hot at 90 degrees. A fan was provided, but very noisy. The patio door from the bedroom was broken and could not be closed or locked. We were locked out on the second day due to keyless entry pad that ran out of batteries. There is no on site person, so we had to call the remote management (an international call for US phones) to get someone to change the batteries which took a couple of hours, a very frustrating experience. However, you cannot beat the location."

Feel Good Hotel

8/10 Good

"Always a pleasure to stay here. The staff are very polite and professional. My only wish, maybe a kettle in the room for that 5am coffee and a fan, the rooms are always too hot for me. Nevertheless a great hotel with great staff"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Ziegelheim?

The best area to stay in Ziegelheim for a quality and convenient experience is typically within the central village itself, or in one of the well-connected, smaller hamlets immediately surrounding it.The village centre of Ziegelheim offers a good base for exploring. It's a relatively compact area with a few local eateries and shops. You'll find accommodation options that provide a comfortable and authentic Thuringian experience, often in guesthouses or family-run hotels. This central location ensures you're never far from the main roads leading to nearby attractions. For those seeking a quiet rural escape, the small hamlets just outside Ziegelheim, such as Frankenhausen or Niederarnsdorf, are excellent choices. These areas offer more secluded accommodation, often with picturesque views of the Thuringian countryside. They are ideal for couples looking for a peaceful retreat, with opportunities for gentle walks and enjoying nature.

When is the best time to go to Ziegelheim?

The best time to visit Ziegelheim is during the warmer months, specifically from May to September, when the weather is most pleasant for exploring the region.During this period, temperatures are generally mild, ranging from comfortable spring days to warm summer afternoons. This makes it ideal for outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, and exploring the local vineyards and historic villages that dot the Thuringian countryside. Many local festivals and events also take place during these months, offering a chance to experience regional traditions and cuisine. For travellers who enjoy outdoor pursuits and want to make the most of the natural beauty of Thuringia, July and August offer the longest daylight hours and warmest temperatures. This is superb for leisurely walks through the Thuringian Forest or visiting the numerous castles and palaces in the surrounding area without the chill of autumn or winter. If you prefer slightly cooler weather and fewer crowds, May, June, and September are excellent choices. The landscape is particularly beautiful in spring with blossoming flowers, and in early autumn, the changing colours of the leaves create stunning scenery.
