Horrible.
The room was filthy. No hot water for a shower in the evening. Asked for an extra blanket for the night and was told that it was not possible.

Great A/C. It is located near by a train rail, so every 2-3 hours a train goes by. Not good for light sleepers.

Wonderful surprise!
Our only disappointment was that there was construction occurring (non intrusive) and we had just left the renovations at our home. The service and room were great. Clean, spacious room, excellent bed, quiet and pet friendly, we were pleasantly surprised for the price. This will be a returning spot when we are on that side of Guadalajara!

It was disappointing to pay that much for a room that it’s so outdated. The top sheet was torn and thin. The shower floor had some strips full of mildew. Only gave us 2 old bath size towels, no others. The location is so difficult to find and coming back from Tequila there is no turn. We had to drive about 2 to find a way to go westbound.

1_ the linen on the bed, was not clean, 2 -the bathroom was so dirty, 3- it was a lot of noise..so our stay in the Hotel, was not a good Experience.

pros: good price and the place is clean, the staff is helpful and has continental breakfast (paid separately) cons: train tracks are behind and train runs at night, kindda loud if you need a second towel (or more I guess) you have to ask for it not that bad, just inconvenient

Safe and secure
Safe place to stay off the highway. Easy access when driving to Puerto Vallarta. When comming from other direction you need to drive 3 Kms then do a return. This modest hotel offers a free breakfast also. The internet worked in lobby. Ask for a non smoking room as ours smelled as smoke. Cheap price for a night.

Pleasantly surprised!
We found the staff exceptionally helpful!! Traveling through Guadalajara, this was an excellent place to stay with our large dog and cat. When we arrived the hotel was empty and when we woke it was totally full. All of this occurred very quietly. While this is not a shopping or tourist area, and was on the main highway, there was an OXXO for convenience. We were surprised to find in the morning that there was a breakfast available. The rooms were very nice, comfortable and clean for the price, though very basic (no phone)! If traveling through here we will stay here again, Very good for the price! It is very hard to find reasonable accommodation with a large dog and cat!

Hotel for traveler not for vacationing!
My experience at the Zar hotel in Zapopan was to be expected a disappointing one, the room was ok for the low price, however the breakfast buffet was not offered to guests booking with Expedia, moreover the older woman in the buffet/kitchen told my wife she needed a ticket before sitting down, we were willing to pay is it was not included, but we were not even got the chance to have breakfast due to the lack of courtesy and bad service.

The front desk check in was a long mess. They charged for a service animal. Internet wasn't working and we had to tell them three times to restart their modum. The air conditioner was off and needed a remote.. they told us to figure it out and after three times of chasing them someone came to the room and saw it needed a rwmote we didn't have. I was there for a short time so I needed these things more on the pronto. Some cool food places within walking

Should be a winner BUT
Pros -location if you are just passing thru Guadalajara. Good and secure parking even for motorhome or trailer. Friendly staff. Clean. However, the fun stops there Con's - many or most rooms no AC or heat. We don't mind, can open the window, but incredible highway noise, train tracks right behind hotel, and there is a yard adjacent which sells cantera (stone statuary and architectural ornaments) and they have dogs which bark all night long. Add that to the hard beds and pillows and you might as well camp out at the front door of the Oxxo - no joy (nor sleep) to be found here.
