Guest Access: You will have the entire house and property to yourself.
The Neighborhood: This area is renowned for its forever vistas of the Mojave Desert and its proximity to Pioneertown, Big Bear, Flamingo Heights and Joshua Tree National Park. The quiet neighborhood offers a tranquil vibe and big, open skies, so you’ll feel like you’re miles away from it all, but plenty of restaurants and things to do are within a short drive.
When you’re ready to hike, bike, or climb, Joshua Tree National Park’s West Entrance is a 15-minute drive away.
You can find great eats, drinks, shops, and things to do in nearby Joshua Tree Village; here are a few recommendations: • Start your day at Joshua Tree Coffee Co., known for their famed coffee made from locally roasted beans (6-minute drive) • Marvel at the handiwork at the World Famous Crochet Museum (5-minute drive) • Pick up some lunch or a souvenir from the Joshua Tree Certified Farmers' Market, open Saturdays (8-minute drive) • Find your next favorite read at Space Cowboy Books (7-minute drive) • Perhaps close your day with the food, drinks and music offered at the rustic Joshua Tree Saloon (7-minute drive)
Up for a day trip? Don’t miss these area highlights - they’re worth the drive. • Noah Purifoy Outdoor Desert Art Museum (15-minute drive) - As far from a stuffy gallery as you can imagine, this outdoor sculpture garden contains a unique collection of folk-art. • Pioneertown (20-minute drive) - Put on your ten-gallon hat and stroll down Mane Street of this Wild West-inspired town, also known for Pappy & Harriet’s, a notable restaurant and venue. • The Integratron (25-minute drive) - New age-y healing destination with a sound bath, originally designed by ufologist George Van Tassel with the goal of reversing the aging process. • Palm Springs (45-minute drive) - Artsy town known for vintage shopping, art galleries, and the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. • Mt. San Jacinto State Park (90-minute drive) - Expansive, hilly landscape with foot and horseback trails surrounding 10,834-foot Mount San Jacinto.
Getting Around: Many roads in the high desert are dirt, so please take it slow. While a car is required to get around, a four wheel drive car is not, but note that roads will often have ruts, particularly after a rain.
Other Things to Note: • EVENTS & COMMERCIAL PHOTOSHOOTS: Are not permitted without prior approval, applicable permit and additional fees.
• DOGS: Your dog is welcome and there is a one time fee of $100. Please alert us in advance. The neighbor hosts a dog sanctuary and while they sometimes get excited with new arrivals, you cannot see anything nor hear a sound from the backyard nor inside the house. Lots of space and multiple fences separate this cottage from the neighbor, but we like to point this out as sometimes people hear the quantity of dogs from the driveway and want to make sure the dogs are safe.
•POOL AND HOT TUB HEATING: - The hot tub is always free to heat. - However, during the cooler months, there are extra charges for pool heating, see below. - If you want the pool heated during these months, please let us know 48 hours before you arrive.
Extra Charges for Pool Heating: May/September: $150 per night October and April: $200 per night November, December, March: $300 per night January, February: Heating not available
• No jumping, diving, running or rough play near the pool and hot tub area. No glass can be around the pool and hot tub, there are plastic cups in the kitchen to be used outside. Please mind the quiet hours (no loud noises after 10pm). No intoxicated persons may use the pool or hot tub. NO LIFEGUARD WILL BE ON DUTY - YOU SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK.
• SOCIAL MEDIA: If you plan on sharing your experience on social media, please mention us!
• CELL SERVICE: Cell phone service availability and quality in the high desert varies by service provider. This is particularly true in the more remote areas of Joshua Tree, Pipes Canyon, and Pioneertown. Please be prepared by enabling wifi calling or downloading a VOIP program.
• ROAD CONDITIONS: Many roads are dirt, so please take it slow. A four wheel drive car is not required, but note that roads will often have ruts, particularly after a rain
