Great place, staff very helpful and friendly. Really good location and less than a 10 minute walk to Micklegate and then you are within the city walls. Highly recommend and great value for money

The staff were lovely and the breakfast was great with loads of choice. The house itself is in a good location and is walkable in around 15 minutes to the town centre. The decor in the rooms is very dated though and the furniture is a little worn. Overall it was good value though and we enjoyed our first time in York.

The place was fantastic and close enough to the city centre. 2/3 members of staff were great! There was one woman that when asked if we were late for breakfast at first looked as if she couldn’t understand what I was saying, she being British as well as the other two members of staff. She said that we were late but the buffet area was empty and what it seemed ready have their guests, that part was disappointing because we were hungry and we were willing to pay the £15/person. Apart from that, the place was great and we would come back. The woman was blonde and she was wearing a pink hoody just saying this so she can be told and improve her service.

Clean room. Friendly staff (even helped me when I left my phone charger after we checked out!). Lovely area to stay at - very close to the centre. Would definitely stay again and hugely recommend the Holmwood House Hotel.

The room was nice and clean, bed was firm but comfortable. We had an issue with our first room where we weren't able to open the windows, but the staff were very helpful by allowing us to go to another room. Only suggestion I'd have would be getting smart tvs, but obviously thats not a necessity and oberlal had a wondeful stay!

Nice little B&B within walking distance to the city centre. This was a convenient location with onsite parking available. The room was spacious and comfortable for the most part although our bed was very creaky so maybe the mattress or base needs replacing. Shower was excellent and the breakfast was good, recommended!
