It is very close to YorkMinster and close to the River and City Centre. It’s a different vibe (in a good way) from staying in a more modern hotel. Staff are very helpful. Breakfast is great, beautiful garden and great drinks area. We also had dinner in the restaurant one night and that was very good too.

PERFECT. This property is just lovely and it is an easy walk to the Walls and the city within. Paul & Fiona are the nicest people and perfect hosts. Our room was excellent, our bed was comfy, everything within our room and the whole building was spotless. Couldn't fault it. Paul's cooking skills are second to none. What a perfect place to stay in York. A very easy stroll into York City. Everything you could want in a stay. Breakfast was very generous. And laundry dervice provided on request.

We only stayed at Ashbourne House for one night and it was very nice. Lovely room with a Comfortable bed, great shower and towels. Plenty if tea and coffee, and if you ran out you could get more from a dish on the landing also a sweet treat if you needed it, which I thought was a nice touch. It was a bit away from restaurants and the main shopping but public buses stopped just down the road and was easy to catch and came regularly if you didn’t have a car.
