I arrived early about 12 noon just to drop off my bag. Lady was cleaning the room said wait 5 minutes finished & let me check-in. I was allowed to store my bag for a few hours after check-out. Hotel is about 25 minutes walk from York Station, a 15 minutes to the centre of town and a 45 minutes walk to York Stadium. Single room ensuite was at the back of the house through the kitchen. It was big enough and very quiet. You are not allowed to eat in the room but they provide a table and chairs at the front of the hotel on a paved area next to the garden where you can eat a take away if needed. I had fish and chips from Dhillons close by there in August and it was nice. There a couple of places a short walk away Goodfillas and Mrs Greedys where you can get breakfast.

Easy check in, suoer clean. The bed was confy. Does not happen often. Yes, there was an issue with the fan extractor which was annoying but is a minor thing. Will use again soon

All in all, we had a pleasant stay. The property and ground floor twin room was clean and comfortable with all the basic facilities required. It's also a good location within around 15/20 minutes to the city centre and directly across from the hospital. The lady I spoke to on the phone on check in and to gain entry was friendly and helpful. This is mind, our last minute booked stay was very good value for money. My only suggestion to management would be to change the bed in the room above room 2 as the squeakiness which continued on and off for quite a long while in the room above caused some awkwardness and use of headphones for our mum and 12yo daughter stay.

This accommodation didn’t appear to be very posh and the room looked a bit dull BUT the beds were very comfortable, there was perfect silence during the night and the internet WiFi worked( despite a glitch at first possibly due to my own input or lots of others using it. To be honest this is a lot better than in the usual well known chain hotels that cost at least twice the price. Yup ! We were very happy with everything and a big THANK YOU to those responsible for this place.

Text received to change my accommodation 3 hours after I was due to check in. Not where I originally booked. Ended up 15 minutes out of Town. Light curtains with a streetlight outside made the room like daylight all night. Adequate facilities. Luke warm shower . Otherwise ok.

Good value

Slightly complicated check in process with nobody on site and having to call a mobile number. However, once I was in everything was very clear. My room was up 2 very steep sets of stairs. It was compact but clean, with a small ensuite. The shower pressure was very weak unfortunately, but otherwise the room was excellent value for money. I especially appreciated being able to leave my luggage, and when I came back, I had a very friendly welcome. The hotel is an easy 15/20 minute walk to the centre of York, and although it's on a main road, I didn't hear any traffic. I'll stay again.

I was overall pleased either way my stay. I needed something cheap for one night and thus was functional and did the job. It was a bit weird walking through a kitchen to get to the room but not a problem. Good points were it was clean, well equipped fora budget room and pretty central, on the downside it could do with some tlc and parking is awful, however I found you could park free in the hospital multi-storey from 8pm-8am. I’d certainly stay again.
