We ate supper at the restaurant and it was very good. The staff were wonderful they told us a few places to go while we were in Valdez. "James and Cristina are friendly and gracious proprietors of three amazing cabins, conveniently located half way up the road to McCarthy/Kennicot. The cabins are rustic but new and cozy with everything needed for a comfortable night in the Alaska wilderness. The property is forested and beautiful on the edge of a river. They provide a separate cook house, where we were able to cook our own dinner (buy groceries in Glenallen) and where they cooked a huge breakfast for our party. Note: please take their warning seriously to be prepared for flat tires along the road to McCarthy. Buy a Fix-A-Flat aerosol can in Anchorage, as you're unlikely to find them elsewhere.) "

"Michael and Victoria love what they do, and it shows. The cabin was clean and comfortable, fishing was productive and fun (and the dog showed us where the fish were!) and the gourmet meals were incredible! If we are back in the area, we'll be back for sure!"

"Although there is no indoor bathroom, the outhouse was more than adequate for folks who camp. The bed was comfortable, the host had the cabin warmed up and greeted us in a friendly manner and was happy to show us around their Alaska homestead. I would definitely recommend this spot as long as you don't mind some road noise"

"Our group of 3 had a great time staying at the Lodge & Alaskan cabin at mile post 28 on the Nabesna Road in Wrangell/St Elias National Park. The owners are great hosts & make sure that you have everything you need. If you need anything, just ask. The Alaskan cabin was very well designed & built and will comfortably sleep 4. The kitchen is well stocked & has a starter set of everything you’ll need. The pellet heater worked very well & automatically kept the cabin warm. Since this location uses solar power & wind power, certain concessions such as no hair dryers, no drip coffee makers & no microwave, are required. We found that these “concessions” actually added to the experience, & you get some robust French Press coffee in the process. Plus, the accessible internet has not yet made it all the way to the interior of the park & there is no cell service, so look forward to some exceptional unwired time in a beautiful location. You can purchase a token to access satellite internet, but who wants to do that in these surroundings? Finally, be sure to take advantage of their food options. We had a dinner & a breakfast there, & it was the best food we had in Alaska. It is served in the refurbished hunting lodge which adds to the experience. Next time we’ll get more meals in the lodge.
