Top McCarthy-Kennicott Historical Museum Hotel Reviews
Fireweed Mountain Lodge - Erie Cabin
10/10 Excellent
"We had a great stay at the cabin! Comfortable, clean, and sure beats a tent! Hosts were great and communicated well throughout the stay. So glad we got to visit McCarthy!"
Tents at the headwaters of the Kennicott River in marvelous McCarthy with WiFi
10/10 Excellent
"Mike was utterly and perfectly accommodating--price was uppity for a tent but Mike made it all worth it--it was the ideal spot for close access to McCarthy and a close-up view of Mt. Blackburn and surrounding mountains--gorgeous--on the river--surround-sound included!"
Fireweed Mountain Lodge - Bonzana Cabin
10/10 Excellent
"Patrick was a great host. Very accommodating and knowledgeable about local logistics. Exactly what we were looking for. We got the creature comforts. Very clean facilities"
Wrangell Mountain Lodge
10/10 Excellent
"This place is a gem in the Alaskan wilderness! Four of us stayed in the Bear cabin (one king bed, one bed in the loft, and a twin bed as well). The bed was heavenly! The breakfast was amazing and filled us up until dinner! The hosts, James and Christina, were so very kind and shared their experiences during the delicious breakfast! The property was beautiful, too... you could sit by the river or fire. I cannot believe how comfortable James and Christina made our stay, especially given the remoteness of the place! They provided bear spray, and even snacks and drinks for later in the day. Staying here will be a lovely, lifelong memory! My only advice would be to leave earlier than you think you need to from Fairbanks or Anchorage. "
