SMEAGLE'S TERRAPIN: Escape to Smeagle's Terrapin on Lower Gresham Lake. This spacious log home is perfect for large groups and offers a blend of Northwoods charm with modern amenities. Highlights of the lakefront home is a threatre room, air conditioning, foosball, firepit, fireplace, kayaks, dock, large yard, outdoor hot tub and several TV's. Situated between Arbor Vitae and Boulder Junction, this private lake home boasts a dock with a boat launch nearby.

HIGHLIGHTS: Enjoy movie nights in the theater room, complete with comfortable seating and a large screen. With 4 acres of open and wooded landscape, you’ll have plenty of room to explore. Enjoy a night telling stories around the campfire or soaking in the hot tub on the deck. The lake invites you to kayak, boat or simply relax by the water or around the firepit - there are 2 kayaks at the home for guest use! The home features an office, as well as a game room with foosball, two TVs and a bar. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need and there is a grill on the deck. Large windows, smart TVs, fireplaces, AC and washer/dryer.

PETS: This home is NOT pet-friendly. Please do not bring your pets or emotional support animals. The owner is very allergic to cats and dogs, so there are no exceptions to this rule. If there is a violation, there will be a $750 penalty fee.

LAKE: Lower Gresham Lake is a 149-acre full rec lake. Fish include Musky, Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike and Walleye. We have a dock to tie up your boat. The boat launch is nearby and is available for a small fee. Be sure to bring your water toys and watercraft!

TRAILS: This home is adjacent to 500 miles of groomed snowmobile trails. ATV/UTV riders can cover a variety of terrain in the area, from paved roads to dirt routes. Enjoy hiking in the nearby Nicolet National Forest or biking on the WinMan Trails. Check out the "Map It Vilas County Trails App" to navigate all the trail systems for any sport - snowmobiling, ATVing, cross-country skiing, biking, and hiking.

AREA: We are located15 min to Manitowish Waters,15 min to Boulder Junction, 20 min to Minocqua, 25 min to Mercer, and 40 min to Eagle River. A great central location for fishing, snowmobiling, ATV riding, biking on the trails, and ski areas! You can get to Snow River ski resort in the Western UP in under an hour!

PLEASE NOTE: We do not provide firewood, but get you started with one DuraFlame log for the living room fireplace. Please only use DuraFlame logs in the home. There is one exterior security camera facing the driveway.

Wonderful Up North Winter Getaway

We had a wonderful time during our four night stay between Christmas and New Years! The house is extremely spacious and clean. We especially enjoyed the theater room!

Relaxing getaway

My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property! The house was clean, beautiful and very spacious. The lake was perfect for fishing, skiing and tubing. Quiet environment that gets you away from the demands of everyday life.

The perfect hideaway!

The property was beautiful and clean. It had everything for a perfect "girl's" getaway. In the main living area, each person had their own recliner, a fireplace, and a beautiful view. This was our primary hangout spot. The beds were comfy and we each had our own space to spread out do to the layout and size of home. We are planning to come back!

Excellent stay in the north woods

We had an amazing stay. House is beautifully done with tons of amenities (foosball, games, large table for cards) and don’t forget the theater room! Lake is quiet and secluded. We brought inflatable paddle boards and kayaks to enjoy. Saw loons and an eagle. Perfect location between Manitowish Waters and Minocqua. Communication with the hosts was seamless.

Smeagle’s Terrapin Oct ‘19

Phenomenal home. Beautiful architecture and furnishings. Comfortable for group of 4 couples. Lake is a little bit of a hike. Bike trail a bit distant for non-avid cyclists to cycle to. But overall very pleasant.

Our trip to Wisconsin

The house was great!! We did notice that there may be a critter living in one of the walls and heard it in the bedroom near the theater room. Unfortunately the hot tub was closed as well, I think due to COVID? Overall nice stay, tons of light switches haha. Good amenities and luckily bedding and towels and everything was included. Thank you again!

Family gathering for an 80th Birthday

The house is very beautiful. Lots recent updates to bathrooms and bar area. We didn't expect to use the theatre room since we had such great weather but we used it twice. We also enjoyed the fire pit. The owners were great to work with before, during and after our stay. All questions were answered quickly before our stay. During our stay we found out the grill was not usable. They had their property manager bring a new one within hours.

A Special Place To Make Wonderful Memories With the Kids and Grandkids!

We were glad we found the Smeagle’s Terrapin for our family vacation up north. The house is amazing! Very well stocked. Aubrey is super responsive, usually texting back a response within minutes. The theater room was a huge hit with the entire family. We loved that everyone was able to share meals and eat together around the large dining room table. It is the most beautifully designed and furnished “Northwoods themed” house we have ever seen! The grandkids couldn’t get enough of story time in the loft with the stuffed coyote 😊. What a special place to make wonderful memories with the kids and grandkids!

It is roomy, well-appointed, has everything you need, and is set in a beautiful location that is also close to so many things. We loved every second there. The kids loved the basement for games and movies. The adults loved the well-stocked kitchen and the amount of space for everyone, even on a rainy day. 5 stars, for sure. We would gladly stay there again! I will also add that the management company was incredibly helpful with any questions I had. I have rented many vacation spaces, and this management company was top-notch.
