A well-appointed, cozy A-Frame, it was a relaxing place to spend our holiday. We enjoyed the fireplace and the kitchen had everything needed to cook/bake.
We loved the stay at the Apres’ Haus.
Katie is a wonderful host. She promptly responded to our questions and meticulously prepared the house for our stay. The amenities of this house were completely satisfying and the location is tranquil and peaceful for a perfect getaway at the UP. A great place to make memories with friends and family.
We loved our stay at Apres' House. We entertained our whole family there! We love to cook, cozy up, watch movies, play games and listen to music and we put that kitchen to the test. We were so pleased to find so many great kitchen appliances, pots and pans and a dishwasher to make all our culinary dishes come true. It's incredibly close to the Whitecap Mtn. lodge and we were able to walk over and enjoy their pool and hot tub. We look forward to our next stay here!
My family and I were looking to get out town for a long fall weekend and chose Apres' Haus as our home base. We loved the modern updates and the simple styling. The house had everything we needed and was clean and comfortable. My tween kiddo loved the loft bedroom with all the fairy lights and fuzzy blankets. The kitchen had some extra touches like an electric tea kettle and decent knives which is always a delight. We felt like the only people in the whole neighborhood, I'm sure that isn't the case during ski season but the quiet roads and natural surroundings were just what we needed. Be sure to check out Corrin's Look Out and Foster Falls nearby. The drive to Bayfield was also super easy. Try the Iron Nugget in Hurley for pizza and pasta. The WhiteCap Mountain Lodge will take credit cards if you would like to use the pool/hot tub and they had towels. Would love to come back for ski season!
we went up to utv, great location to access trails. the house is super cute and cozy. we went to bed the first night and i went to plug my phone in and found a dead mouse behind our bed. let the owner know and she apologized and said i hope it didn’t freak you out too much and then told us atleast you have quite the story and said sorry again. that’s it, still paid $780 for 2 nights after finding that by our bed. driveway is ok for trailer, we have a larger trailer so had to go in at an angle and unhook. the kitchen had quite a variety of cookware and a few seasonings which was nice. has a super nice washer and dryer available for use as well. overall besides the mouse it was a nice place to stay.
Excellent getaway with many amazing surrounding activities
Everything about this from check-in with Katie & the entire process of communication to the bittersweet end of the trip was excellent.
Pros: The house is amazing. The area of Wisconsin along the UP & Iron County where wildlife & trees that cannot be found anywhere else is astounding. The distance to great things like Potato Falls or Copper Falls and many trails along with the scenery & Lake Superior is excellent. If you go during the off-season without skiing, as we did, it is silent.
The house is adorable. The setup beats anything you will find out there, especially for the money. The fire pit, the porch, the amenities, & the trails in the area with the pleasant welcome with pertinent information was also great.
After looking at the reviews of the hotel for the ski resort, I should imagine this is the cream of the crop for something someone would stay at going up for a ski trip. Looking at the landscape, I would imagine this is also the perfect setting for such a trip though we do not ski.
One more thing…& this is key…IT WAS CLEAN! My wife is a a very clean person with rentals who typically is a little focused on finding details for cleanliness. I’m telling you now this was wonderful per her.
Cons: We simply were unlucky in that at another cabin, not related to this owner, had a construction crew working until shortly after dark causing noise which would have likely allowed for more wildlife walking by and causing wildlife to come into the close area. No other cons!
The house was very nice and we loved that it had a few items stocked since we were in for two nights! We loved this location as it was close to the ski hill! Katie did a great job with communication as well!!!
This is a beautiful property in a good location for hiking and viewing waterfalls. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals.
We enjoyed our stay and had a great time as a family. It's an easy drive to Ironwood- a Ben Franklin store! And a cute downtown. We hiked at Copper Falls and explored Ashland. Great trip.
We had a wonderful Fall weekend stay at Apres’ Haus. Our host Katie made sure we were taken care of and was very accommodating. The accommodations were warm, cozy, CLEAN, inviting & comfortable. The kitchen is stocked with everything you would ever need. The walks, hikes & waterfalls were plentiful. Don’t hesitate to book here, you will love it.
Property was clean, well organized and ready for us! The hot tub listed was actually at the main lodge and we'd have to pay 5 to use it.Beautiful wooded area! Close to Lake Superior.
A lovely, well maintained and furnished home, in a lovely location with nice cozy spaces on the inside. It was a great place to stay at and explore the natural beauty of the gogebic range, the south shore of lake superior, and the waterfalls and wilderness in-between. Having Weber lake within walking distance is a huge plus when visiting during the summer, and I have no doubts that it's an exceptionally nice place to stay for winter fun.
It is a nice location. Small beach nearby perfect for my two young kids to swim safely and play. Cozy home with everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again
Everything was clean and well maintained! A very large storm moved through the 1st night of our stay and took out the power for about 12 hours, and the property owner was in contact with us throughout the whole process. We would definitely stay again!
We came to look @ Waterfalls in the area. This home did not disappoint, good location, clean, just as picture advertized, hostess checked on us to make sure everything was good. Loved it for sure. Not enough time to do all we wanted!
We had a fantastic stay! Cabin is very nice and spacious, in great shape, has all the things you might need if you forget anything at home. Nice quiet setting, and we slept amazingly on those 2 queen beds! Overall, I'd say it was larger than I expected from the pics, and also the things that weren't pictured were better than we expected. The lake is a short walk and has great fishing. We only fished there for a little while because we were off doing other things, but still caught 15 fish! (My 13 year old son caught 10 of those, I have to admit). Would be perfect for ski season if I still skied. HIGHLY recommended!
