"Hotel was very good and the staff very helpful and friendly. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was very good. Breakfast in the morning was a buffet style and there was everything you needed all was tasty. Our bed wasn’t very comfortable it was very firm. The twin room beds were much more comfortable. The rooms and hotel were beautifully kept everywhere was very clean and tidy. The bathrooms with the big walk in shower were great. They only have 1 ev charger and unfortunately it wasn’t working it would have been useful to know that before we arrived. As more people have electric cars now maybe they should email if it’s unavailable so you don’t rely on it. The staff were super helpful explaining where the nearest one was. Also it says on the website food can be ordered up to 21.15 when it was 20:45 which needs to be updated as we were just inside the time when we arrived. It would have been annoying to have to find somewhere had we arrived a little later."

"Delicious breakfast, beautiful grounds and building, especially when lit up at night. The spa was relaxing with a great range of treatments, plus The Barn spa on site for additional capacity. Reception, concierge, bar, restaurant and housekeeping staff were knowledgeable, friendly and went the extra mile. A particularly lovely touch was the birthday dessert waiting in our room for my partner. They had kindly accommodated my request for a small surprise. Thank you! A few negatives: 1. Breakfast staff, although friendly, seemed rushed and forgetful. The experience would have been better with a consistently working coffee machine and quicker replenishment of food. 2. Our room was advertised and confirmed as having an extra-large King bed, but it was simply two twins pushed together. I had specifically compared properties for this requirement and paid substantially more for this room type, so this was very disappointing. 3. I’d recommend visiting during the week. At the weekend there were three functions, including two weddings. Guests were running through corridors, banging doors and talking loudly until around 2am. Our room was only six doors down from the function hall, so we also heard a lot of the music. Not quite the relaxing spa weekend I had envisioned."

"Pool area and amenities need some work. Great hours for using the pool. Friendly helpful staff. Breakfast was ok, however the hotel food was not very hot and not very nice. Sadly we left the food. Ate cereal only Lots of parking which is good."

"Great find- total suprise! I chose this hotel almost by chance, mainly because it was close to the airport after a late arrival, and it turned out to be a lovely surprise. The pub is beautifully renovated, cosy and full of character, while the hotel itself is in a separate building just behind it, making it wonderfully quiet. Everything felt fresh, spotless and well maintained, and the room was comfortable and spacious enough. We unfortunately didn’t have time to explore Old Harlow, but even the little we saw had that beautiful, romantic old English atmospherelike the hotel and the pub. A very pleasant stay and an easy recommendation."

"A lovely stay. We didn’t use the restaurant so can’t comment on the food. All the staff were very welcoming and helpful. Had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Next time we will upgrade from a basic room as we like a slightly bigger bed."
