Thee Griffin did not disappoint. Right in the middle of Colonial Williamsburg, the Griffin is close to everything that IS the Williamsburg experience. Although the property has some years on it, it has been maintained well and everything was clean and neat. We will definitely come back!

The overall property is really beautiful. However, The Griffin Hotel needs some major renovations particularly in the bathrooms as the paint is peeling from the ceiling and it is quite outdated.

Big, nice room with a pretty view. Nice helpful cleaning staff.
One sink, stopper did not work. Tub stopper replaced with one requiring guest to lean down and open with finger. Mismatched uncomfortable furniture. Place in need of interior update - improvement.
We booked this room on the day of check-in. We booked a double queen with pond view. A couple hours later we received a call that only a king room with a pull out couch was available and we would receive a $25 breakfast credit for one day. The king room had a tennis court view not water. The hotel location is very convenient to Colonial Williamsburg. Check-in is at a different hotel. The actual room was very large but had peeling paint in the bath room on the walls & ceiling. The room had a weird smell to it so we kept the slider open while in the room. I think it’s time to refresh the rooms furnishings and decor.

Loved being in the midst of Colonial Williamsburg. The location is just about perfect. Felt like in the country but so close to Merchant Square and surrounding quaint streets.

First time staying here and I would definitely recommend. The room is clean and spacious. We were able to walk to Colonial Williamsburg in about five minutes.

This hotel is completely out of date and out of place in keeping with the Colonial Williamsburg theme. The grounds are kept up but as soon as you enter the door, everything goes downhill from there. The worst part was the rock hard bed. It would have been more comfortable sleeping on concrete. This hotel needs a serious overhaul!

The atmosphere was amazing, and the proximity to colonial Williamsburg was perfect. We even enjoyed drinks on the veranda by the fire. Our only complaint was how hot the room was.

You should be warned that there is no elevator. I was not prepared to carry my heavy suitcase up the stairs. There were no bathrobes in the room and no water either. My key did not work after coming back from dinner at 11pm at night and it was a dark cold walk to the inn to get another one.

The room was very large and the building was very quiet which was great. The staff was amazing at all times. From checking in, dinner at the Terrace, and checking out, very polite and professional! We will be back!

The Griffin is a wing of the more upscale Williamsburg Inn, which is really beautiful. The staff and food were amazing.

The facility was in need of repairs and outdated. The furnishings were old, damaged and stained. There was paint peeling off the walls and ceilings of the bathroom. There were water stains on the nightstand and stains on the couch. It felt a bit dirty just from the obvious age of the property and the lack of any renovations that needed to be done years ago. We spoke to another couple that apparently had been coming to this hotel for many years and appreciated its retro style but that it’s charm has definitely diminished due to the lack of care in conjunction with the removal of some amenities. The higher cost is only justified by its location… definitely not the quality of the property. The bed was very firm and linens not very plush… so not very comfortable either. We only interacted with the staff at check in so really nothing to say about the service. Just an overall disappointing stay for the money.
