"We liked the hotel's location and the room was clean. Staff were friendly. We encountered a few issues. Without notice there was no housekeeping service the Sunday night we stayed. Not a huge deal but a heads up would have been nice. The elevator to our floor was out of service the entire time we were at the hotel. Not the end of the world, but not ideal when bringing luggage up or down when checking in or out. The air conditioner in our room worked but was very loud and made strange sounds. We did have someone look at it which helped for a few hours. The strange and loud (very loud at night) noises persisted during our entire stay."
"I was traveling for work and stayed a full week. My room wasn't cleaned once. They didn't even empty the trash bin in my room. They said that they had an iron, but it wasn't made available to me once. I asked each morning and evening and it was always taken out. I had to go to meetings each day with a wrinkled shirt and pants. There was no parking permitted onsite during weekdays. Parking was not guaranteed at night, either, and it was also not always available. The staff were not rude, but they obviously had no regard for whether my stay was satisfactory or not. Aside from the cost (which is still pricy compared to other cities) and decent location, there are few positives about this accommodation. If you can, look elsewhere."
"I've stayed in a number of hotels in Halifax and surrounding areas and without a doubt this hotel is the single worst hotel experience I've had. For my 8 night stay I paid more then I ever had for any of the other hotels listed on Expedia in HRM and here’s what I noticed;
1. The rooms are obviously pictured to be tiny but the grasp of how tiny they are is only made in person. There is ZERO storage space in the entire room with the exception of 1 pull out drawer which handle was broken and inaccessible and the small suitcase storage under the bed does not in fact fit a suitcase.
The layout of the room made no sense. In order to watch the tv you have to be propped up at the foot of either bed to see the full screen.
2. Easily the biggest issue with this hotel is the noise. Every Saturday the lobby turns into a nightclub with blaring music that from the second floor is heard so clearly it literally shakes the room. I was unlucky enough to have a 4AM flight on Sunday morning and when I advised staff of the noise in my room I was told “we are fully booked, and there’s no rooms to move you too, you’ll have to deal with it”. I can most certainly understand wanting to cultivate a fun experience in your lobby but it should not come at the cost of the comfort of your guests, after all this is a hotel.
Ultimately, I would recommend nearly any other hotel in Halifax over this one."
