Bed and Breakfast in Wilbinga

"We had a wonderful family holiday at Deb’s beach retreat in Two Rocks. We were so impressed with the welcome pack on our arrival, which included bubbles in the fridge and plenty of food supplies for the first night to save us a trip to get groceries! The house is newly built, super clean and stylish, and has a secure good size back yard for your dog to chill out in. It also catered well for children with some fun board games and a few toys to play with. We found it so well equipped with everything we needed for our stay to be comfortable! We loved the easy access to the local beach where there was a calm spot for our kids to safely swim. Thank you to Deb for her warm hospitality, we’ll be back one day!"

"The hours that facilities were operating were disrupted because of the Christmas break. We were so impressed to receive a phone call a few days before our arrival to advise what food services would be available so we could plan for that and bring our own breakfast etc. "

"The owners are nice and the location is excellent with grocery stores, car rental, gas and train stations all within a 20 minute walk/two minute drive. The bed was very comfortable and was fitted with quality linens that made for a great sleep. There were however a few things that did taint the experience. Personally, if I were planning to host a guest I would make sure that major construction work be planned so as not to overlap with a guest’s stay. Having to walk through the garage to access the front entrance - okay. Being unable to park in the designated car spot because the driveway is drying - fine. Having power outages that resulted in no hot water, while workers could be heard walking on the roof above the bedroom is where it started to feel like there was an expectation to roll with the changing conditions of an active construction site. I think the accommodation itself needs a deep clean and some general upkeep. I cleaned the kettle which had significant build up inside, possibly from hard water, and the washer/dryer had a noticeable stale odour. Laundry detergent was nearly empty when I arrived. TV remote out of battery and no spares. Construction dust piled behind the sink. Pool was cloudy. Lastly, I killed two cockroaches in the living room. Along similar lines to a previous review, I think this property has potential, but it seems to be a pattern that the hosts put the guest experience second."
