"Our stay at Sailors Rest was amazing! The hosts were very friendly and responsive, but still gave us a lot of privacy and space on the property. We probably saw them briefly twice. Their daughter helps with messages and she was very quick to respond to my questions on the website, esp regarding the hurricane watch we found ourselves in. (We were safe and fine! Property is well above sea level.) The property itself was beautiful, well stocked with toiletries, pool supplies, and fresh eggs upon request. Landscaping and overall property design was impressive! We loved our private pool time and the sauna. Thank you to the hosts! "

"Parking available. Property unclean outdoors, lots of trash. Shower and under bed not clean. Asked for broom, mop, and linens 4 times after 1st night, speaking twice to front desk, and 4 times personally to the house keeper on duty who said she'd bring me linens, broom and mop to clean room. Never got any of it."

"Beautiful. Pet friendly. Pool. Hot tub. Game room. Definitely recommend. Everything Amazing. Definitely can loose your family in a home this big. Lighting could use an update. The stairs inside going to 2nd floor are beautiful but, can be deceiving. We left the chandelier on all night, as navigating them as it gets dark can be challenging. Needs some sort of light on each step to prevent missing one. My sister missed one coming down. Luckily she was holding the rail, & yes the rail is sturdy. Going to walk the dog in the evenings, I recommend a flashlight. Could use lights down backstairs, side stairs & around yard to make more inviting to go out for a walk, to the fire pit, as well as, around the front yard & going up the driveway. Only one solar light was working on a tree halfway up the driveway. Yes, the porch lights work, but walking the yard at night around the house& farther out with ambience lights would make it magical. Love the candles on the first level back porch. Nice touch. Could add those to all porches.Yes, you are in the south. Be aware of the local fireants in the yard. Cockroaches are here, but we only found 4 during our stay. Clean up your food items immediately will remedy most issues. Older home, they are updating..not trying to complain. I would still recommend. Just be aware it is a work in progress. A review book on site, checkout list, emergency local #s (vet, hospital), must see sites to see & overlooked local hotspots to checkout."
