Shell Cottage is a 2 bedroom house with a beach effect garden and is close to town

Shell Cottage is perfect for a seaside getaway with the beach just a gentle few minutes stroll past the town with an array of boutiques, delicious restaurants, coffee shops and art galleries. You can even take a boat trip to see the Seals, WWII Forts or simply around the bay. Whitstable has everything just a stones throw and the Train Station is conveniently only just 5 minutes walk away.
Walk through the front door and sink into an armchair in front of a cosy log burner or enjoy a board game on the dining room table whilst the dinner is cooking in the galley kitchen to dine alfresco in the pebbled garden. The kitchen has all you need to cook with an electric oven, gas hob, kettle, toaster, dishwasher and even a Nespresso coffee machine to make mornings that little bit better! The downstairs bathroom has a wash basin, WC and a large bath to really sink into.
Upstairs you will find a double bedroom to the rear and twin bedroom to the front, both with a vintage chest of drawers and clothes hangers.
For the children there is a travel cot, high chair, stair gates, books, toys & games.

Shell Cottage is next door to The Roost which is convenient for 8 guests to stay in two properties.

There is free street parking on the road and surrounding roads. The nearest paid parking is Victoria Street car park. You can view the charges on the Canterbury City Council website. Parking can be limited in the high season but once you have parked up, you are close enough to walk into town, beach, shops etc.
You can also visit the 'Just Park' website to find out where to park in Whitstable.

There are frequent busses running from Whitstable to Herne Bay and Canterbury. You will find bus stops along Harbour Street, High Street, Oxford Street etc.
The trains from Whitstable station will take you to Ramsgate or further afield to London. Whitstable Train Station is about a 10 minute walk to the town centre.
There are also Taxi services available for short fares or airport runs. The nearest airport is in London and the Ferry port is in Dover.

Perfect stay

We had a wonderful time in this lovely cottage. It is even nicer in real life! The location is superb and the garden is perfect for breakfast outside. We can only recommend the place and our host. Communication was excellent and we felt very welcome. We would definitely stay there again.

The perfect Family Get Away

We travelled with 3 adults, one baby and a dog. The house is super well equipped and has everything you would need. It is in a prime location. Just a short walk to the beaches, harbour and restaurants. The communication with the owners has been really good as well.

Very good stay.

Excellent cottage. Not as easy parking as I was expecting. Although easier as I have a disabled badge. But the road where the cottage was situated was very restricted to parking as was the near by streets. This was quite an issue as I have walking problems. The property was excellent. No issues there.

Lovely Whitstable

We had a lovely 6 days, shell cottage has every-thing you will need and spotless. The cottage is close to town, harbour, and sea, perfect for us oldies. The only things that were missing we thought was a nonslip mat for inside the bath and a grab rail by the bath, I had trouble getting out, made worse by husband laughing. We all recommend the cottage. Thank-you.
