"The room was lean, but the shower floor had a brown build up in the corner, which made me uneasy. They only lean your room if you request! The pool was nice and because the hotel was not busy, it was enjoyable. I wish I could say good things about the staff. Fifteen minutes after checking in the front desk was unmanned. I called, knocked on the office door to no avail. The phone began ringing and no one answered. It rang twice while I was trying to find someone. I wanted to pay for two sodas from the cooler, but finally gave up, went to my room, and then waited for the morning staff, and explained that I had been unable to pay for them the night before. BTW, the lady at the desk that morning was nice, but charged me more than the costs (I believe she just made a mistake on the size. When I purchased two more the next afternoon, I was charged the correct amount, I did not ask for a refund. Breakfast was ok, but sparse. Checking out was fine, although the same young man who checked me in and disappeared was there this morning when I checked out. I mentioned not being able to find him Tuesday afternoon and he said that I should have called him. Interesting, since he did not answer the two calls that 1st evening, I am not sure that I would stay there again. "

"My wife and I were joined in overlapping stays by our 2 daughters, d-i-l and 3 grandsons aged 4,7,9 for a wonderful 2 weekstay at the Mine Rd home. We all had a wonderful time. The house was perfect for us and so comfortable.The house was immaculate, fully outfitted for cooking, bathing and sleeping for all of us. We were very happy with the location as it was central to what we wanted to do: farm tour, science factory, Railroad Museum, Hershey, Lapp ice cream, going down driveways for root beer, eggs, asparagus, plants. Roots farmer's market and flea market. We loved cooking the fresh foods we bought. We loved hearing and watching the buggies go by. We met some very nice local people including Lavina's husband. Steve. Sharing all these "new" experiences with the boys will stay with them forever.We thank Lavina for hosting us and providing a safe and comfortable home away from home for our family to stay while we experienced the PA Dutch communities."

"We experienced exactly what we wanted away from the hotel and faster pace of the city. It is a wonderful older family farm setting in every way and we totally enjoyed it. The hosts are wonderful folks and we were close enough to the sites and sounds we came to see. We would gladly recommend this to anyone who also is flexible and looking for a more down to earth atmosphere"
