This was our second stay here. We love the quiet and secluded area. We enjoyed sitting on the deck watching hummingbirds and had a few deer pass through as well. We also enjoyed grilling and playing board games in the evenings. We like the location as we go to Salida, white water rafting and hit a few trails on the sxs. We will be back!
We had a great week at the cabin, was able to hike out of the back yard in the San Isabel national forest, watched deer, rabbits, turkeys and grouse all around the cabin and jack rabbits and pronghorn in the fields on the drive to town from the cabin. I highly recommend this cabin
Such a wonderful property! The setting was quiet and private, yet still close to town, which was worth a visit of its own. Having direct access to trailheads was so convenient and the house had everything we needed. Would stay here again!
Great place very quiet. All the amenities you wpuld want. Kids had fun exploring the area.
My family and i have stayed here once before and most generally will stay again. We love the small town of Westcliffe. This property up against the mountains is a wonderful place to get away for a bit
Our family's stay at this truly magical cabin was everything we'd hoped. Relaxing, surrounded by nature, and a very comfortable and inviting environment. Thank you, Pete for a wonderful experience.
A great place to enjoy a weekend in a beautiful home in the mountains. Property is adjacent to national park trail access, with beautiful views in all directions. Fun small town of Westcliffe nearby. Very responsive owner.
"Magical" is absolutely an accurate word for this property! Such a beautiful setting with lovely hiking right off the beautiful back deck. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your gorgeous home!
We wanted a quiet week away after the holidays and this cabin was perfect for our family of 5 plus dog. Great space for everyone to have their own privacy, but also great family room area to gather for meals, games, and reading the by the fire. Communication with Pete was very easy - we had a few things come up that he was able to help out with quickly. Will definitely stay here again!
We appreciated the warm welcome and cleanliness for our stay. The cabin is well appointed and stocked with anything you might need. The property mngr was very responsive. We hiked nearby trails for 2 days and cooked in. Comfortable, quiet and beautiful! Fun get-together for friends.
The property is close enough to town that it’s not a bother to go out to eat, yet it feels remote; surrounded by mountains, trees, and the beauty of nature. More stars than you can see anywhere else. Lots of wildlife. And wonderfully quiet. Overall an awesome stay. Peter was very quick to respond when we had a minor problem and was an excellent host.
Had a wonderful family getaway in the mountains at this beautiful home! We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and snacks. The kitchen was completely stocked with every spice or condiment you could possibly need. Everything about this home and our entire weekend was beyond expectations. Thank you for sharing your little slice of heaven!
It was a delightful, quiet escape in the mountains. The cabin has everything. We enjoyed hiking just outside the door. Sitting on the deck, we were buzzed by humming birds, and watched dozens of wild turkeys in the meadows. It is a comfortable space to relax. We were able to view the Perseids meteor shower in the night sky. Great place for a peaceful retreat !
The cabin is beautiful, and cozy, and the view from the windows is stunning, this cabin has all amenities we needed. We had a lot fun right in the backyard with sled. Also, the owner, Pete, is awesome, he answers our message immediately, keep us updated about the weather, and expended his Sunday morning to help us with our car. Thank you so much for all you did for us.
The cabin was very nice and in a quiet secluded setting. We hung our hummingbird feeder on the deck and enjoyed them every morning while drinking coffee. We saw deer, grouse, and rabbits as well. We had a family game night with one of the many games at the cabin. We enjoyed some jeep trails ( 2 within 15 min), white water rafting at Texas Creek ( 30 min away), and did some shopping in Salida and Westcliffe. Salida was a little over an hour at this time due to road construction. The cabin had everything we needed. We would defiinitely say there again.

Our stay in this cabin was excellent all around!
We were familiar with the area and wanted to do some hiking and fishing. There is easy access to the Rainbow Trail within 5 minutes from the cabin, so that is very helpful.
The pantry was well stocked, and the Lowe's store in town offered a great option to get groceries.
The hosts did a great job anticipating any needs that a visitor might have. Lots of good books to read on a rainy day and board games to play. There is even a pair of binoculars that one can borrow to use on a hiking trip. Many thanks to the hosts for being so thoughtful!
We would definitely love to stay here again if we get a chance!
I booked this VRBO for a family vacation with my elder mom, nephew, and his girlfriend! We take a yearly trip to the wet mountain valley so always looking for new best options for our stay!! Nephew and girlfriend stayed in the basement living area! My mom took the main floor room with the crib, and I took the master! We still had the loft area that was unused - plenty of space!! Master was fantastic and super roomy! It was nice having my own bathroom space! Mom had the bathroom next to her room for convenience, and the nephew used the bathroom in the basement except for showers! Checkin was super easy and straight forward! Communication with the owner was pleasant and efficient! We spent most nights either playing the provided board games or looking through the provided telescope! Fully stocked pantry and all the condiments in the fridge you could possibly want! A nice bottle of wine was provided as a welcome and baskets of candy and chips! Truly lovely, beautiful, roomy, and easy stay!! Thanks so much for opening your home! I look forward to our next stay!!
