Great host
Troy is a great host. Cottage is very clean and well equipped. Beds very comfortable. Good heating. Location is interesting, certainly not in the finest part of Wagga but locals were all friendly. Local shops including excellent Indian restaurant are an easy walk.

Nice, tidy home
Older style home that has been updated well. Beautiful original artworks adorn the walls, and kitchen and bathroom are well stocked. Stayed during a very warm spell, and cooling was great. Cooler was left on prior to check-in. Very thoughtful and appreciated

Older Home in Quiet Neighbourhood
I stayed with my mother and my 2 children. The house is older style with no updates but it’s clean and tidy. Had everything we needed. Good yard for our 2 dogs but there are neighbors’ dogs on all 3 sides so there was a bit of barking.

She's an old cottage. Can be cold, but the heating does the job. Troy's fantastic to communicate to and the cleaners do a great job. I've stayed many times and always been happy. If you want fancy, book something else, but if you want suitable and does the job, book the cottage. I'll be back.

Perfect Stay
It was a very clean homely house. I stayed here with my partner to visit my 6 year old daughter. The house is the perfect layout and had all cooking utensils for us to enjoy cooking our meals together. The backyard was perfect for the 3 of us to play soccer and have fun out there. Overall, all 3 of us felt instantly comfortable in this beautiful house. I would without any hesitation stay here again and recommend to anyone visiting Wagga stay in this well located, charming home.

Perfect for us
Troy was communicative, the kitchen well equipped, the beds comfortable. We enjoyed the use of the backyard and the location was handy to the sporting fields and shops that we utilised during our stay. My only recommendation is that the exposed pipes in the shower had never been seen by my children before and they didn't realise (nor did I point out) that the hot water pipe gets burning hot. This is certainly not a criticism- but rather a 'be mindful'. If we return to Wagga for sport, we will be hoping to stay here again.

Brilliant..close to sports oval for dogs..2 minute walk..5 minute walk to supermarket.
We loved it. Nothing fancy it was nice..Heating and cooling covered.Beds comfy.Good yard for the dogs. It’s a homely older house with older kitchen and bathroom. We were visiting our daughter at uni and this was perfect for us. If your looking for 5 star accomodation you might like to look elsewhere and wear the extra costs along with it

Very comfortable with a lot of thought given to stocking the house with books, games, kitchen equipment, BBQ, warm blankets etc. Only things missing were an electric beater and frying pan flipper. With 3 double beds, a single bed, and large sofas, a perfect place for family to stay. Will be back!

We visited Wagga Wagga to help our son relocate for Uni. Castlereagh Cottage was very easy and convenient for us. It was close to everything, quiet and comfortable after busy days helping our son. Castlereagh Cottage was a great location for exploring the local area. The cottage is well equipped and feels very welcoming upon arrival.

We loved this home with its lovely air conditioners and cool decor, since the outside temperatures were sky high. The street is a quiet one, ideal for those who value their sleep. It also had a comfortable mattress on the bed, a huge TV and a host that made sure we had everything we needed, from washers and towels to shampoo and cornflakes!

Mount Austin Hideaway
A lovely cottage feel, surprisingly spacious and so near to local shops and just 10 minutes from the city centre - Wagga has so much to offer the weary traveller and this cottage was just the place to stay.Had a great time and met all our expectations.

One of the best
The house is 3 bedrooms and would be large enough for most families. It’s very clean very well organised and functional. The Neighbours were fine and nil issues. The tv was great with Netflix and decent wifi. The property is a gem. Parking off street. Easy check in. Troy is easy and accommodating via text. Yes I recommend this property.

Lovely cottage
Property as described. If you’re after 5 stars, then Castlereagh Cottage may not be for you as kitchen and bathroom are original but perfectly adequate and add a certain charm. However, if you’re looking for an affordable, pleasant and comfortable stay in a quiet area where your pets are accommodated then Castlereagh Cottage is ideal. There was some staples in the cupboards which we were invited to use. Troy was a great host - quick responses and extremely helpful and accommodating. We would definitely recommend. Di, Den and Robyn

overall good just disappointed with comments from owner
when we arrived to the property my caregiver noticed that the backyard still had dog poo from the previous holiday makers. we told the owner. He then asked me how many dogs do we have, which is nine we are not going to hide it, he then blatantly told us that if had known that he would of never allowed us to book the place, which was very upset to me as I suffer from a brain injury and mental health issues, if it wasn’t for my carer i think i would of harmed myself. As my dogs are my life they give me strength to go on in life. I did tell the own that we have dogs but he said that i didn’t. tell him, he than reply that we are not allowed to have the dogs in the house which we knew that and made out that we left the house we fur on the coach which the dogs never went on. My carer explain to the owner that he has up set me and my mental health went down because of that. I feel that the owner doesn’t care. Also we got no thank you for cleaning the dishes, washing the towels and making sure that there was no dog poo left in the backyard. Also if you do that your dog down the backyard isn’t secure, anyone can walk in and steal your dog, my carer had to go and buy a pad lock to make sure no one can come in and steal our dogs. Bathroom is not disability friendly at all. Besides this we had a wonderful time

Hi Larrissa. As disappointing as it is, thanks for taking the time to write your review. Just to lay out the facts. When you arrived you said you loved the cottage but you were disappointed that one of your dogs had rolled in poo in the back yard from another guests dog. This was the first time you had mentioned you had brought a pet. As the lawn was only freshly mowed that morning and I haven't had guests with a dog, that's when I asked how many dogs you had brought. I think any host would be shocked by your reply when you said 9! That's when I thought your dog must have rolled in the poo of one of your other dogs and not one from a previous guests dog. My property description clearly states that pets are not permitted inside the cottage due to hygiene and hair causing allergies in future guests. Also that guests are to politely inform me if they are bringing a pet, which you did not. The outside laundry is only big enough for 1 or 2 dogs to sleep in, so I knew that you would be letting the dogs inside and due to the rain this was inevitable to me as a host to think this would happen even though it's against the cottage rules. I work in health and am acutely aware of the struggles of people with mental health illnesses and when your carer "Marica" had said I had upset you by saying I wouldn't have approved your booking if I'd known you were bringing 9 dogs, I subsequently apologised. When you checked out, my cleaner messaged me to inform me that there was dog hair everywhere in the loungeroom and that it looked like a dog had urinated or vomited on a doona cover. This is when it was clear to me that you had allowed the dogs inside during your stay. Subsequently the doona had to be thrown out and an extra hour of cleaning was required to remove the dog hair from carpet and lounges. I've also had to have the carpet steam cleaned. The rules also state that all washing up needs to be done and put away prior to departure which you did and the cleaning up of the dog poo in the yard is also mandatory. There was no need to wash towels, but thankyou. The cottage bathroom is older style and nowhere do I mention in the listing that it is disability friendly. The shower does however have a support rail and is an easy shower to step into and out of. The back yard is secure with a high, heavy double gate which is the only way in or out. In 4 years I've never had a guest say it's not secure and there have never been issues with dog theft as the area is very quiet and safe. I pride myself on my communication with my guests and am always there to render assistance if required. This is evidenced by my reviews in the past. On this occasion I'm sorry neither of us were very happy with the result of the stay. In future I would suggest that you let hosts know about bringing your dogs, especially when you have 9 of them. It was nice though that Marica had said to me on the morning of departure that you had a wonderful stay at the cottage. It was only after I informed her of the cleaner finding the dog hair and vomit that she threatened that you and her would now be writing me a bad review. This was extremely disappointing, and since you did write a bad review. I'm relieved as a host that I'm able to lay out the facts as they happened, so that I also have a voice when I'm reviewed like this. I wish you all the best Larrissa. Regards Troy

This is a lovely welcoming 3 bedroom house a short distance into Wagga township.
The house was clean and welcoming. We had notified Troy that we would be arriving late, the aircon was on ( Dec) there was milk and chocolate in the fridge ready for us 🙂 There was spare towels, and bedding available if needed. A short drive into Wagga township and 20 mins from Kapooka if you are visiting someone there. We accidentally left something behind and Troy ( owner) posted it to me. A great place to stay.
