Whether partaking in adrenaline-pumping thrill rides or circlingthe carousel on a porcelain pony, this park offers something for all.

Amongst many rides, the park featuresfamily-friendly mechanical swings, children’s train trips and playgrounds.Thrill-seekers can try exhilarating bungee rides and surf simulators. Keeptight on your turns at the amusement kart track or savour the suspense of theEjection Seat ride. Even younger kids can find their own pace riding a colourfulmini pirate ship or taking part in a convoy race. Take a break at the visitor centre,where you can purchase snacks or sit down at a restaurant.

Vulqano Park serves as the base stationfor the TelefériQo, a gondola that connects Quito to the eastern side ofPichincha. This aerial lift is one of the world’s highest. After a day at theamusement park, take a ride to its 3,945-metre (12,943-foot) peak andexperience panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. The lookout has anumber of restaurants and cafés where you can enjoy these views with a meal.Walk off lunch with a hike to Rucu Pichincha, the smaller of the volcano’s twopeaks. This trip takes around 3 hours. It is recommended that you walk with a guide.

Vulqano Park lies on the outer edge ofQuito, approximately 5kilometres (3.1 miles) north of the Old Town. Although the park charges no entry, each ride or game has individual costs. TheTelefériQo gondola also charges admission for a ride. The park operates with aswipe card system. These electronic cards can be recharged at the visitor centre.Vulqano Park is open daily and accommodates paid parking on-site.
