All newly renovated interior, and well suited rustic exterior, Sparrow Cot sits on a corner of a large lot on top of the hill just 1 minute off 78 in Vista California. Centrally located with short drive times to the San Diego Safari Park (25 minutes), Legoland (17 minutes), San Diego Zoo (40 minutes), Sea World (40 minutes), Disneyland (60 minutes ), Knott’s Berry Farm (60minutes) and minutes to downtown Vista, Carlsbad, Oceanside or Oceanside Harbor! We’re close to everything you could need on vacation. The Pacific Ocean is 8 miles away.
OUTDOORS: You might just want to stay put at the house to have some down time with the indoor outdoor living setting, and do some BBQ. You have the full use of the entire premises with the sizable yard allowing you to park your car inside the yard. The laundry is set up outdoors on the side of the house under the shelter roofing. Pet is considered on case by case depending on their breed, fee applies. Please message me.
INDOORS:Our rustic house offers 400 square feet of newly renovated living space. New wood flooring and new cabinetry in the kitchen stainless steel appliances (no dish washer)and an open floor plan. 1 fully stocked bathroom with shower. Well appointed queen size bed has pillow options from memory foam to feather soft to choose from. A futon turns into a full size bed, and you will find extra foam and bedding right under the futon to use. also available is a air mattress if extra bed is needed.
PARKS: If you love nature you are in luck. Nestled in the northeastern part of Carlsbad, just a 4.4 miles away lies a slice of historical wilderness - an ancient volcano and a dam dating back to the Second World War. Lake Calavera Preserve is a hidden gem. Amongst the growing city of Carlsbad, Lake Calavera Preserve is 262 acres of wildlife that supports plant and animal life only found in Southern California. Hike, bike, walk or run through this amazing natural experience. Don't forget your camera. At the entrance to the preserve, is Oak Riparian Park that offers 2 brightly colored play structures. One for little ones under 5 and one for bigger kids over 5. Lots of picnic tables and grassy area for kids to run and play ball. The beauty of the area is worth a visit just in itself.

Was good and functional on the inside the shower was tiny outside was full of weeds No level ground literally the driveway was so steep they had to put sandbags to keep water from going into the house . There was no trash can had to borrow one from a friend i was there 20 days had to ask the owner about figuring out the door combination and that the hot and cold was opposite on the kitchen sink i think it was way overpriced for what I saw outside Looked like a shack,

Peaceful and pretty, just all round comfortable.
I really enjoyed staying here. I needed a place while I finished my 2week notice at work and then I am moving out of state. Everything was lovely, clean. Host was very accessible. The only thing I would change is maybe if they someday want to add a door to the shower instead of the curtain. It kept getting in my way. And maybe a garbage disposal and/or a trash can outside. But really so minor these inconveniences. It was/is very nice.

Sparrow cottage
I am not going to lie When I Drove up I was concerned but while it’s small it was perfect for two. It’s not in the best neighborhood and the gate is not automated. The outside if the house needs to be painted. But the inside us totally updated and a nice surprise. We ran out of paper towels and toilet paper. Overall it was perfect and I wanted to extend my stay but the place was booked.

Cozy and private stay at Vista guesthouse
We enjoyed our 2-night stay at this Vista guesthouse. There was a queen bed, a pullout sofa bed, a full kitchen, and bathroom with shower to accommodate our party of 3 adults and 2 dogs. It wasn't a big space, but it served our needs. We really enjoyed the privacy and convenience of a fully enclosed yard with gate so that the dogs could run around and we could enjoy the indoor/outdoor spaces. The reason we gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because we had some issues including: 1) The guesthouse was quite hidden and can be difficult to find 2) The WiFi code we received at first was inaccurate so we had to do some code guessing to finally get the right code 3) We were expecting to do some outdoor grilling but the BBQ did not work and looked like it wasn't used for some time 4) Listing pictures did not accurately reflect the property - the bathroom setup was actually different than listed and there was no outdoor sofa on the outdoor patio 5) The neighbors had 3 loud and mean-looking dogs who were constantly outside and would bark at any movement. Despite these issues, we still enjoyed our stay. But just keep in mind the aforementioned items to make sure that it'll be okay for you.

Tucked away cottage
This spot was perfect for our trip. We did a little wine tasting with our German Shepherd, so having a yard for him to roam around freely, a table and grill for a cook-out was ideal. We felt right at home. The decor was cute & inviting w/ all the comforts of home. Such a nice weekend get away from LA.
