"My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and our stay was excellent. The property itself is beautiful, full of lush trees and lots of greenery. The staff very friendly and helpful, they made our stay enjoyable. You literally get treated like royalty. I recommend paying extra for the all inclusive option since it comes with lots of perks including all food, beverages (both alcoholic and non alcoholic), access to all sister hotels nearby and activities. The only part I didn’t care much for was that the concierge staff kept pushing us to attend a meeting where they were pretty much trying to sale a yearly package/similar idea to a time share even after clearly stating we weren’t interested. I do understand that is their job to sale, but they were pretty persistent. Other than that our stay was very enjoyable and we are planning our next visit already!!! The amenities in this place are above amazing, they’re a 5 diamond hotel which is the highest rating they can get. "

"I wanted to take my time before writing this review. My partner and I traveled to Puerto Vallarta specifically to stay at the Xinalani Hotel Retreat—the photos looked stunning. We booked the king suite for its private pool and outdoor shower, aiming for a peaceful, private birthday celebration. We expected some bugs, as the website warns about them, so a dragonfly in our suite wasn’t a big deal. But from check-in, we noticed a foul sewage-like smell in the room. When we brought it up, the afternoon manager dismissed our concern, blaming the ocean or possibly a dead animal—off-putting, to say the least. The odor wasn't constant, but with the open-air design, it returned often. Later, we found the smell came from the path beneath our suite. Other issues included collapsing furniture—one piece even hit me—and a mouse in the suite on checkout day. For a place marketed as a luxury retreat, these issues were unacceptable. What frustrated us most was the management’s tendency to explain away problems instead of resolving them. Despite amazing waitstaff and a great daytime manager on 4/18, the overall experience was disappointing. My rule is: would I go back? Sadly, no. Too many problems, not enough accountability. It’s a hard pass."

"Such a hidden gem. This place is more than a stay. It's an experience. Things to note are that you have to take a small boat to reach the property so pack light. The nature and beach are beautiful. The rooms are comfortable, clean and the perfect blend of shelter and being one with nature. The restaurant on site is superb with quality organic ingredients that create art on a plate. Staff is friendly, approachable and super helpful. Can't wait to come back. "

"We loved our stay at Casa Luna! The property is beautiful and the hosts were very welcoming and friendly. We recommend it wholeheartedly.There are a couple of things visitors should be aware of:- There are no supermarkets anywhere close to Boca, so you need to buy everything you will need for your stay (food, coffee, alcohol, toiletries, etc.) somewhere close to the airport. We went to Soriana's, which is a large supermarket that had everything we needed.- The property does not have road access. There is a non-paved path to the town (10 min walk), but mostly we used water taxis directly at the pier on the property. The taxis are convenient, but you need to be sure-footed and wearing stable footwear to get on and off.The place is fantastic overall and those are the only caveats a visitor should be aware of. The accommodations are very comfortable, the pool is great, the views are fantastic. There aren't many activities in Boca itself, but it's a short boat ride to Animas or Yelapa, which both had fantastic beaches and watersports. Make friends with a good water taxi driver and they'll take care of you!"
