The Palace of Versailles, or simply Versailles, is a royal château in Versailles in the Île-de-France region of France. It is also known as the Château de Versailles. When the château was built, Versailles was a country village; today, however, it is a wealthy suburb of Paris, some 20 kilometres southwest of the French capital. The court of Versailles was the centre of political power in France from 1682, when Louis XIV moved from Paris, until the royal family was forced to return to the capital in October 1789 after the beginning of the French Revolution. The Grand Trianon was a lovely part of the Versaille Castle park. Much less crowded inside and out than the main palace. This is where the king used to come to just enjoy some peace and quiet away from all the people in the main palace. The garden is lovely and the flowers had such a nice smell. #Paris #Versailles #garden

Construction ongoing on our floor not affecting our room but in the hallways. Unable to sleep beyond 8am with drilling, sanding and vacuum noise. Unfinished ceilings in the hallways showed all of the hvac system and hallway lighting was sub par.
