I arrived at 9pm, was given card key to my room, carried my stuff from the car, only to find the room had not been cleaned from the previous guest: bed was unmade, towels on the floor, garbage in the trash. I put my stuff back in the car, went to the front desk, only to find the receptionist had locked the lobby and gone on a break for 15 minutes. Once she opened up the lobby, I told her about the room. She complained to someone on the phone, but told me she didn't have another room. She offered to call La Quinta Hotel for me, but I declined because I didn't know anything about that hotel. I had to find another hotel after 9:30 pm, sleepy and with two dogs. I filed a complaint on Best Western's site a few days ago, but have not heard back yet.
