We stayed for four nights in a Grand Deluxe Room facing the Grand Canal.
The room was dark but fairly modern, however the units were grubby and scratched, missing wood. The mattress was awful, the blankets were summer and I asked for some additional blankets as it was cold, but was told this was not possible. The heating in the room did not work until the third night, no sincerity from the staff or urgency to resolve the matter. There was a lack of furniture in the room, maybe a chest of drawers?
I requested more toilet paper on night three, this never arrived. Not a stupid request, I didn’t think it was unreasonable. To which I had to buy some.
Grand Deluxe rooms are on the canal front, and the restaurants below play noisy music (Simon and Garfunkel) on loop until 11:00PM, each night. Neighbours aren’t respectful of the noise.
I have travelled to Venice and Lido for the past ten years and have stayed at a range of properties, and unfortunately this was by the worst in my experience. We will not be returning. I read all the reviews before booking this property which is officially rated 3* but the booking reviews suggest it’s more 4.5* hence why I selected this hotel. In my opinion this is more like a 2* hotel at premium location prices.
Good hotel for location, but that is about all.
