Unbelievably Great Renovation of a Power Plant

The Steam Hotel is unbelievable. I did not expect such a great facility. We were in Vasteras to visit our son who is studying there, and I booked this hotel with my fingers crossed. Staying at the Steam Hotel was a great experience and if our son stays in Vasteras we will stay there again.

The hotel is looking really well, I enjoyed it was in a recommissioned building. The room was spacious, and I was able to work from here for a day, as well as in the comfortable lobby. Breakfast was good too. The only room for improvement was the spa, I get that it is more than a swimming pool, but I would appreciate it if at least you can go for a more frequent swim during a multi day stay.

Fun place to stay

Room was good value for money and the hotel has wonderful views and nice vibe. The glass elevator's worth a ride. I wouldn't say it's five star, but it's certainly got a sense of occasion. The room was spacious, comfortable and well-appointed - ot was easy to adjust the temperature to my liking, which gets a thumbs up. For me, the dinner options weren't quite there. I couldn't get a table at my first choice restaurant, despite it being a week night, travelling solo and being prepared to wait. So, I gave the Italian a go. Service was friendly, but if I'm paying £22 for a pizza, it had better be top notch.

I wanted to share a small note after our recent stay. We booked a dog-friendly room and were really looking forward to it, but honestly, I expected a bit more from a 4 star experience. There weren’t even any bowls or small touches prepared for our dog upon arrival, which was quite surprising given the room rate and the additional pet fee. I’ve stayed at lower-rated hotels in Sweden that have gone above and beyond to welcome our four-legged friends, with treats, a bed, or even a simple welcome note. It makes such a difference. Maybe it’s worth taking a look at what other hotels are doing in this area, because dog owners truly appreciate when their pets are made to feel special too. Overall, the stay was fine, but it could have been so much more. That’s the real shame, because the potential is definitely there.

Very stylish hotel

The hotel is very-very stylish. Rooms are spacious and nice. Bed is perfect. Cabinet is very small, no drawers, very few self. The bathroom is small. No real space around the sink. There is no door on the shower. Not enought lift for the high building. One was full time out of order. The pool club is perfect, but for charge, and need advanced reservation. Runing two and half hours periods only. The water park was fully booked for a month, so it was no chance to enter. Some space have to be reserved to hotel guest... Also the restaurant (which is perfect) was many times full, because of the extra events.

Good location with nice view towards the water. Walkable distance to many restaurants, and a supermarket within 3 minutes walk. Spacious lobby with table tennis equipments. Breakfast was excellent, and all the staff were very friendly. I would definitely come back!

They call joint beds a Kingsize bed 😅

I booked a kingsize bed lake-view room. The mattress of kingsize bed was too thin and a gap between beds happened. Kingsize bed needs to be removed from their options because a kingsize bed should never separate and the mattress should be thick as well. I explained to reception but it was ignored by them since this hotel has no kingsize bed.

Very nice

Overall I think this is the best hotel I’ve stayed at in Sweden. Some feedback though: Misses porridge, rye bread and unsweetened peanut butter from the breakfast Also I think the gum should be open 24/7 We had a basic room and it was indeed very basic and even quite small. No kettle or coffee in the room! Thought it was pretty dark in the halls and in the restaurant / reception downstairs The spa was nice but should be included in the room price. Also you should be able to stay there longer than three hrs. And why on earth is there no jacuzzi?! But rather three just normal pools. This we did not get at all. One of the showers did not work..

Rent och fräscht rum. Stor frukost med både varm och kall mat. Riktig apelsinjos och fina smoothies samt ginger shot. Ej praktiskt för husdjur. Brandövning med alarm genomfördes under min vistelse. Nödutgångar saknar uppmärkning; vid verklig skarp brand skulle det leda till katastrof, vilket jag påtalade för räddningstjänsten.
