"We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Athena in Siena. The service was exceptional, the staff were warm, welcoming and genuinely helpful throughout our visit. The location was fantastic for exploring Siena, with everything within walking distance, while the hotel itself provided a comfortable and relaxing place to come back to after a day of exploring. We also loved the beautiful views from the terrace which was the perfect spot to unwind with a drink and take in the scenery. Sunset was especially beautiful and I would recommend calling the terrace staff themselves to reserve your seat. They are VERY busy up there so please exercise patience and kindness to the server and bartender as they work so hard to get your orders to you as quickly as possible. Self parking our car was a huge bonus as we rented a vehicle to explore Tuscany. A lovely hotel, a great location and wonderful service. We would happily stay here again when visiting Siena!"

"Entspannung pur für Zwei!Wir haben eine fantastische Sommerwoche in dem Haus von Marisa und Paolo verbracht. Der Panoramablick vom Garten und vom Pool aus ins Tal ist wunderschön.Der Pool war sehr sauber und erfrischend. Zusätzlich zur Außendusche, gab es im Saunahäuschen eine weitere Dusche und ein WC. Das fanden wir sehr praktisch, da wir sehr viel Zeit im und am Pool verbracht haben und auch die Sauna fast jeden Tag genutzt haben. Die Ausstattung des Hauses war für uns perfekt und wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt. Es gab ausreichend Gläser und Geschirr, Smart-TV, einen Turmventilator im Wohnbereich, Mückengitter an den Fenstern, ausreichend Sitzgelegenheiten im Garten und am Pool. Winziger Störfaktor: Der Kühlschrank war recht laut.Die Ausstattung zum Kochen haben wir nicht genutzt, da wir jeden Abend die verschiedenen großartigen Restaurants direkt im Ort besucht haben. Alle waren zu Fuß in wenigen Minuten erreichbar. Ebenso die Kaffeebar und die Gelateria. Donnerstags gibt es vormittags einen kleinen Markt. Der Ort war trotz Hochsaison nicht so überlaufen wie andere Orte der Toskana. Das war sehr angenehm. Außerdem konnten wir unser Elektro-Auto direkt auf dem Grundstück laden.Marisa und Paolo sind sehr diskrete und sympathische Gastgeber, die jederzeit per WhatsApp für uns erreichbar waren. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!"

"Het is een verbouwde hooischuur van steen in twee verdiepingen. Dat maakt een prachtig, smaakvol gerestaureerd en zeer ruim huis. Alle ruimtes zijn heel schoon, er is airco in de slaapkamers en alles wat je nodig hebt is aanwezig. Je slaapt er heerlijk, het is er stil.Het huis ligt een stuk van het hoofdhuis, de oude boerderij, af. Er omheen is veel groen. En het uitzicht vanaf de eettafel buiten over het landschap is fantastisch. Je ziet reeën, hazen, bijzondere vogels en veel zwaluwen die hun vliegkunsten vertonen. De eigenaren zijn heel gastvrij en erg aardig. Je hebt veel privacy en het contact is heel hartelijk en gezellig (de eigen olio d'olivo en de groenten uit de moestuin zijn heerlijk!).In een minuut of twintig sta je geparkeerd op de Santa Caterina parking en van daar ben je via de roltrappen zo in het oude centrum van Siena. Erg mooi!Dit keer bekeken we onder meer het museumcomplex van de Santa Maria della Scala. Waaronder het oude Ospedale, de frescocyclus van Lorenzo di Pietro (il Vecchietta) en de fantastische Etruskische en Romeinse collectie! Je kunt er uren doorbrengen. We bezochten verder voor het eerst Asciano met haar Museo di palazzo Corboli. La sala di Aristotele is geweldig mooi en bijzonder beschilderd (13e eeuw). Ecc. Ecc. Verder kun je er heerlijk fietsen in de omgeving als je niet opziet tegen wat steilere stukken ;)"
