"Absolutely wonderful hotel, and what makes it so good is the staff. They are the friendliest, most helpful staff anyone could ask for, a real credit to the owners. It is a boutique hotel with 30 rooms and has a very personal feel about it. You really do feel part of the family when you stay. We loved it, it’s a shame it closes for the summer season as it would be great to stay and enjoy the summer walks of the area. It is technically ski-in/ski-out although the ski-out side involves a rather steep walk of about 30 metres to get to the run. However there is a free shuttle mini-bus that will take you direct to the lifts. We will return undoubtedly. "

"Emmanuelle's chalet was perfect for us, with lots of space and well laid out so that we had room to relax - and what a lovely view up the valley. We also really liked the location in Laisinant as it was quiet but close to town, and has a great red run down to the lift/chalet - which is much nicer than the red off Solaise down into Val centre!"

"Stayed at this hotel for a recent ski holiday. Beautiful hotel, very cosy, lovely rooms. Lots of communal balconies. Didn’t use the bar however looked lovely with board games and pool. Great boot room. Parking on request for €19 pd. Accessible to slopes by foot, around a 10/15 minute walk depending on how good you are at walking in ski boots. Also, there’s a free bus stop 1 minute walk from the hotel which takes you right to the bottom of the slopes. Great stay, would definitely return next year! "

"Staff was very helpful, location is ideal. But, can't figure out why a bed too large for the room is shoe-horned in, with a small counter-table located so it is almost impossible to get around bed to rest of room. "

"We are a family of four, with two college-age children, and had a wonderful stay at the Samovar. We stayed in one of the family rooms, which was perfect for us (with two beds in a spacious upstairs loft). The hotel is perfectly located -- literally across the street from the Dailles gondola (and only about a block from the funicular to the summit). There are a couple of restaurants nearby, including a great Savoyarde spot across the street. There is a regular shuttle bus to the main village of Val d'Isere that leaves from right in front of the hotel as well (and it's only a 20 minute and very scenic walk to the village anyway). The ski room is convenient (and heated). The breakfast was plentiful and delicious (if fairly standard for a European hotel of this quality), and the dinner at the hotel restaurant was surprisingly good and reasonably priced. The spa was a big plus as well, with a sauna and jacuzzi pool in the basement. Finally, the staff deserve special mention -- particularly Abdur at the front desk. He was friendly, welcoming, and always helpful, consistently asked how things were going. On our last day, when we asked to store our luggage after checkout for the day while we skiied, he graciously took charge of our seemingly endless number of bags, stored them for the day, and then brought them down to the side entrance so we could easily load them into the car. All in all, a terrific hotel. We are already looking forward to our next visit!"
